G AI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Power Delivery Technical Director to enhance oversight and development within the Power Delivery Engineering Business Sector. This role reports directly to the Business Sector Leader. The ideal candidate will: Possess a strong understanding of Transmission, Substation, and/or Distribution markets. Demonstrate the ability to manage projects and technical staff across various disciplines. Have the capacity to generate work for the Business across regions, preferably within new markets or territories and clients. Responsibilities Include: Lead, manage, and expand a division within the Power Delivery Engineering sector, ensuring strategic growth and operational excellence. Drive sales and marketing efforts to generate work for staff with expertise in Transmission, Substation, Distribution, Structural engineering and Project Management. Achieve profitability and productivity goals for the Business Sector by managing P&L, adhering to chargeable ratio targets, overseeing overhead budgets, and meeting the sector's profit multiplier. Develop and implement the annual business plan for the Business Sector, including gathering information from direct reports and monitoring and reporting progress quarterly. Support corporate mission, goals, strategies, tactics, code of conduct, policies, and procedures actively. Foster effective communication and collaboration at all levels within the organization. Communicate effectively with corporate management to resolve issues, share personnel, workloads, marketing leads, and ideas. Collaborate with Business Sector Leaders, Operations, and Corporate Services to deliver profitable, safe, and sustainable projects and services for clients. Participate in creating company policies and develop long-range goals and objectives. Manage and grow a team to support new business initiatives. Expected work breakdown is as follows: Operations – 40% Assist in leading, managing and expanding the Power Delivery Engineering Business ensuring strategic growth and operation excellence Workforce planning Hiring priorities Process improvement Quality management Standardization Cross-office coordination Capacity balancing Mentoring project managers Business Sector Portfolio Management – 20% Drive portfolio strategy and execution while empowering project managers and technical leaders to achieve business objectives. Overall P&L accountability for assigned portfolio Revenue forecasting and backlog management Resource planning across projects Financial performance including: Gross margin, Net revenue, Utilization, Write-offs Executive oversight of project managers Risk identification and mitigation Client satisfaction and repeat work Portfolio reporting and KPI management Lead corrective actions and decision-making to address performance challenges Business Development – 30% Develop GAI's Power Delivery Engineering business by initiating new client relationships and going deeper within existing clients in the Transmission, Substation, and Distribution energy sectors. Develop strategic client relationships Lead major pursuits and contract negotiations with clients, with assistance from Business Sector Leader Identify key account opportunities Support proposal strategy Grow existing accounts Coordinate marketing and business development activities Represent the company externally Technical Leadership – 10% Provide strategic technical leadership across projects, pursuits, and business initiatives to ensure technical excellence, quality, innovation, and consistent delivery Technical oversight Executive QA/QC reviews Support complex technical decisions Mentor senior engineers Advance technical best practices Maintain industry awareness Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance. While working in the field conducting inspections, the employee will be exposed to the outdoor environment, including weather fluctuations. This position requires the successful candidate to perform field visits to client sites to obtain photos, and physical measurements, and view site conditions. Employees will walk over uneven terrain and over long distances at times. The employee is also required to wear all Personal Protective Equipment including a hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Incentive Structure This position is designed with a competitive base salary and a performance-based incentive program that provides significant upside opportunity for high-performing leaders who consistently deliver exceptional business results. The incentive program is intended to reward behaviors that create long-term enterprise value rather than simply recognizing individual effort. Performance Objective Target Incentive Achieve Business Plan Meet Financials and Performance Metrics outlined in the Business Plan ~ 10% of Salary Subject to Annual performance Bonus Pool $20,000 Supplemental Strategic Incentives: Portfolio exceeds revenue and margin goals Profitability: NOM ≥ 10%; $10,000 Grow existing client revenue PMO/OE Revenue Growth (under existing contract frameworks, with FE, PPL, Exelon, etc): NPR ≥ $2.0M; $20k $20,000 Client Excellence w./ FE FE Quarterly Scorecard ≥ 90% $10,000 Target Incentive $60,000 The Supplemental Strategic Incentive Program is intended to recognize the unique growth, quality, and operational objectives. The program will be reviewed annually and is anticipated to remain in effect through FY’28. Thereafter, compensation is expected to transition to GAI's standard leadership incentive framework, although GAI reserves the right to extend, modify, or discontinue the program based on business needs and performance. General Characteristics Makes decisions with broad influence on activities of their practices. Demonstrates a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in planning, organizing, and guiding projects and activities of major consequence. Provides leadership and develops and engages others to create a common vision for their projects and the practice. Assesses courses of resolution to ethical dilemmas in complicated situations. Minimum Years of experience 20+ Certification/Licensure Driver’s License Required Education B.S. Engineering or other technical degree, Master's Degree or Equivalent Experience Preferred Technical Responsibilities Performs advisory or consulting work for the practice across broad project areas or within a specialized area with innovative/complex aspects. Assesses practices and requirements to achieve sustainable performance of complex engineering projects from a systems perspective. Project and Task Management ~30% of time allocated to leading projects. Occasionally oversees multiple large or multidiscipline project teams. Develops projects needed for accomplishing the objectives of the practice. Occasionally evaluates project management plans for complex engineering projects. Develops risk mitigation plans to address project risks. Evaluates effectiveness of leaders and teams. Management Responsibility Receives general administrative direction from senior leadership team. Develops practice strategy for staff development through mentored experience, continuing education, and self-development. Communication Skills Negotiates critical and controversial issues with leadership of other practices. Represents their practice at important functions or conferences. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate and communicate with and garner support from key stakeholders and staff. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical reports and procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and other business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. Why GAI?
