Interview Process: 2 Rounds

Location: India (Fully Remote)

Work Hours: 12:30 PM–9:30 PM IST (March-November) and 1:30 PM–10:30 PM IST (November-March).

Project Details:

• Legacy application environment for them since the 90’s
• Sitting on Oracle so will need SQL to understand stored procedures etc.
• 4-5 larger applications that need remediation (nothing new greenfield just working on exsisting and tweaks to exsisting PowerBuilder Applications) and then have a few smaller ones that are in migration phases
• Majority related to trade
• 1 related to payments/settlements
• 1 related to invoicing
• Need slight to medium level of remediation and updates – no new builds in PowerBuilder
• Consuming APIs built on other technologies so experience consuming is nice but not required
• Migration schedule as well for the PowerBuilder legacy applications by 2028 so opportunity to work through and then move into more modernized .NET development as well potentially if project becomes more long-term

What are the top must-have technologies/required experience for the position (Try to hone-in to a top 2-3)?

• Expertise in Powerbuilder (anything above v. 2017 but will be working on version from 2022)
• Understand existing code, make changes, add new features, etc.
• PL/SQL (using Oracle specifically) – complex sql queries, stored procedures.
• Design principles understanding

Nice to haves/Preferred Skills:

• .NET Side is a plus (apps co-exist with those applications)
• Any Powerbuilder Framework experience (using SuperClass)

Education or Certification Requirements:

• PL/SQL is a nice to have but not required

Job Description:

We are seeking Senior Application/PowerBuilder Developers. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing software application solutions and participating in the selection, adoption and adaptation of appropriate software design methods, tools and techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

• Has technical responsibility across all stages and levels of software development – from planning, constructing, measuring, and monitoring to the execution of building application software.
• Selects, adopts and adapts appropriate software design methods, tools and techniques.
• Leads the analysis and development of major design projects and solution architecture and makes recommendations throughout the entire process, while ensuring that appropriate tools and methods are available.
• Develops implementation plans for complex requests for changes to an application.
• Coordinates and manages planning of the system and/or acceptance tests, such as software security testing within a development, integration project or program.
• Maintains client relationships with internal and external customers.
• Leads the assessment, analysis, planning and design of release packages for large or complex software components.
• Provides expertise and guidance to Junior Developers on the configuration of software, testing, and development of applications.
• Maintains application support processes and ensures all requests for support are dealt with according to agreed procedures.
