Practice Consultant – Social Worker | 10964 | permanent contract | 37 hours per week | £43,822 to £48,227 per annum | Grade K | Norwich We offer a £2000 welcome payment for qualified and experienced Practice Consultants new to Norfolk County Council. Amount to be repaid in full should you leave within two years of employment. For experienced Social Workers new to Norfolk County Council, we promise to try and match or better your existing salary, providing it's in the spectrum of the grade advertised. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated, and hardworking Practice Consultant Social Worker to join the Norwich Learning Disabilities Team based at County Hall, Norwich. Norfolk County Council and Hertfordshire Partnership University Foundation NHS Trust work together to deliver an integrated specialist service for adults with learning disabilities. As part of a multi-disciplinary Health and Social Care team, we provide person-centred support to adults living in the community, enabling them to lead independent, safe, and fulfilling lives. About the Role We are seeking an experienced Social Worker or Practice Consultant who is passionate about strengths-based practice and committed to developing excellent Social Care services. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to further their career in leadership and practice development. Previous Practice Consultants within the team have successfully progressed into Team Manager roles, making this an excellent development opportunity for ambitious practitioners. As a Practice Consultant, you will play a key leadership role within the team, supporting high-quality social work practice, driving service improvement, and contributing to the ongoing development of a positive learning culture. You will provide professional guidance, casework consultation, and practice leadership to Social Workers, Assistant Practitioners, students, and apprentices. You will be an innovative and solution-focused practitioner who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering excellent outcomes for adults with learning disabilities and their families. Key Responsibilities Practice Leadership and Professional Support. Provide professional leadership and guidance to Social Workers, Assistant Practitioners, students, and apprentices. Promote and embed strengths-based social work practice across the team. Support practitioners in the application of legislation, policy, and professional standards. Provide case consultation and specialist advice on complex cases. Lead on practice development initiatives and contribute to service improvement activities. Support reflective practice and encourage innovative approaches to achieving positive outcomes Monitor and promote high standards of professional practice and recording. Support quality assurance processes, audits, and learning reviews. Identify areas for improvement and work collaboratively to implement solutions. Contribute to the development and implementation of service priorities and strategic objectives. Assist the Team Manager in overseeing workflow and workload management within the team. Support effective allocation and prioritisation of work. Monitor performance and contribute to achieving service targets and outcomes. Assist in managing risk and ensuring statutory responsibilities are fulfilled. Support the induction, training, and development of staff, students, and apprentices. Contribute to a positive learning culture within the team. Encourage continuous professional development and reflective practice.
