THE ROLE M&C Saatchi World Services US is seeking a highly skilled and strategically minded Press Officer to develop compelling executive communications that support leadership engagement, stakeholder outreach, public affairs objectives, and mission-driven communications initiatives across a diverse portfolio of federal programs. Working closely with communications leaders, strategists, subject matter experts, event teams, and senior stakeholders, you will craft speeches, talking points, briefing materials, executive remarks, media-facing messaging, and strategic narratives that inform, inspire, and engage diverse audiences. You will play a critical role in shaping leadership narratives, translating complex topics into clear and persuasive messaging, and ensuring consistency across high-profile communications engagements. The ideal candidate combines exceptional writing and storytelling abilities with strong research, editorial, and stakeholder management skills, and is comfortable working directly with senior leaders, adapting content for a variety of audiences and formats, and delivering polished communications products under tight deadlines. This is a hybrid role; however, you will ideally live in the greater NYC area or the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) region. Key Responsibilities • Develop speeches, executive remarks, talking points, keynote presentations, and leadership communications for a variety of internal and external engagements. • Prepare executive briefing books, speaker packets, biographies, event materials, and supporting communications assets. • Translate complex policy, programmatic, technical, or organizational information into clear, compelling, and audience-focused messaging. • Collaborate with communications, stakeholder engagement, content, and event teams to ensure alignment across communications initiatives and leadership priorities. • Conduct research and gather insights from subject matter experts, stakeholders, and source materials to inform speech development and messaging. • Adapt messaging, tone, and narrative style to reflect individual speaker voices, audience expectations, and engagement objectives. • Develop content for conferences, webinars, stakeholder forums, leadership events, ceremonies, public engagements, and multimedia communications products. • Develop rapid-response communications materials, including executive statements, talking points, holding statements, and briefing materials under accelerated timelines in support of emerging issues, crisis situations, and time-sensitive organizational priorities. • Ensure all materials align with approved messaging frameworks, organizational priorities, and communications strategies. • Review, edit, and refine communications materials for clarity, accuracy, consistency, and impact. • Support message development efforts for strategic communications campaigns, executive engagements, and high-priority initiatives. • Maintain repositories of speeches, talking points, biographies, messaging frameworks, and approved communications materials. • Manage multiple writing projects simultaneously while responding effectively to evolving priorities and accelerated timelines. Key Attributes • Experience developing speeches, executive communications, leadership messaging, or strategic communications products within a professional environment. • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively. • Experience supporting senior leaders, executives, stakeholders, or public-facing representatives through high-quality communications materials. • Experience leveraging digital event technologies, virtual engagement platforms, or AI-enabled tools to enhance event delivery and audience experiences. • Curiosity in technology landscape and how AI is changing communications. • Strong research, synthesis, and analytical skills with the ability to transform complex information into engaging narratives. • Ability to adapt voice, tone, and messaging for different audiences, communication channels, and speaking styles. • Experience preparing briefing books, talking points, executive presentations, speaker materials, and event communications. • Experience supporting rapid-response communications, crisis communications, or time-sensitive executive messaging while delivering high-quality materials under compressed deadlines. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, consistency, and message discipline. • Excellent stakeholder-management and collaboration skills, with experience working across communications, policy, content, and event teams. • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and produce high-quality work in fast-paced environments. • Understanding of strategic communications, audience engagement, public affairs, and leadership communications best practices. • Experience supporting federal government, public affairs, executive communications, or mission-driven programs is preferred. • Familiarity with messaging frameworks, communications planning, and executive engagement strategies is preferred. • Location: Hybrid, able to commute regularly to Washington DC or New York office spaces. • Language Requirements: Fluent written and spoken English required. • Educational Requirements: BA/BS in Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations, Public Affairs, Political Science, or a related field preferred. Eligibility Requirements: • U.S. Citizenship: Must be a United States Citizen (required by government contract). • Clearance Eligibility: Must be able and willing to obtain a U.S. Government Secret or Top Secret security clearance immediately upon employment. • Background Screening: Must be willing to submit to a rigorous federal background investigation, which includes an in-depth review of personal finances, criminal history, employment history, and drug use. The salary range provided reflects the anticipated compensation for this role across our Washington, DC and New York locations.
