COMPANY OVERVIEW We exist to make food the world loves. But we do more than that. Our company is a place that prioritizes being a force for good, a place to expand learning, explore new perspectives and reimagine new possibilities, every day. We look for people who want to bring their best — bold thinkers with big hearts who challenge one another and grow together. Because becoming the undisputed leader in food means surrounding ourselves with people who are hungry for what’s next. OVERVIEW The Electrical Power Distribution Engineer is responsible for providing senior technical and project engineering leadership in support of corporate- and plant-led capital projects, with primary accountability for electrical power distribution scope. This position supports primarily North America manufacturing platforms and regions. It also partners closely with project and controls engineers, plant teams, and external engineering resources to deliver safe, reliable, and maintainable electrical power solutions. This role plays a key part in translating business and operational needs into practical electrical system solutions, driving technical decision-making, and maintaining continuity across multiple active capital initiatives. The position requires deep expertise in industrial electrical power distribution systems, strong project leadership, and the ability to coordinate effectively across internal and external stakeholders. The role also supports facility reliability and functionality through maintenance-improvement efforts and provides subject matter expertise in electrical safety. Supported scope may include high-voltage, medium-voltage, and low-voltage distribution systems, transformers, switchgear, switchboards, protective relays, and related electrical infrastructure. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Provide technical leadership for electrical power distribution specifications, standards, and design requirements across capital projects and facility applications. Own or support development of electrical distribution standards, equipment application guidelines, and engineering best practices to improve safety, consistency, maintainability, and long-term asset performance. Evaluate and guide application of new technologies in electrical power distribution, protection, and equipment modernization to improve reliability, safety, and business value. Lead electrical power system scope development, design review, and execution support for capital projects across multiple sites and business initiatives. Serve as the primary technical resource for electrical system decisions on assigned projects. Ensure technical solutions are aligned with plant standards, corporate standards, safety requirements, operational needs, and long-term maintainability. Support development of power distribution and startup strategies. Provide technical leadership throughout the project life cycle including project planning, detailed design, procurement support, installation, commissioning, startup, punchlist resolution, and project closeout. Partner with project managers to define scope, identify risks, develop execution strategies, and support delivery against project objectives, timelines, and budgets. Support capital projects by assisting in scope development and managing vendor relationships to help deliver project objectives and maintain strong execution. Continue to identify and pursue the best value for capital spend, particularly in electrical distribution equipment and related technical purchases. Review and guide design work completed by external engineering firms and contractors. Support contractor and vendor coordination, including technical reviews, submittals, FAT/SAT planning, field issue resolution, and commissioning support. Contribute to estimate development, scope clarification, technical bid review, and evaluation of external support requirements. Coordinate with plant operations, maintenance, engineering, IT, and project stakeholders to align tie points, shutdown planning, startup readiness, and handoff requirements. Drive issue resolution during execution by identifying technical risks early, escalating when needed, and keeping decisions moving to protect schedule and startup readiness. Support facility reliability and functionality by enhancing maintenance procedures for preventive and predictive maintenance. Provide SME leadership in electrical safety, including support for standards, risk awareness, and safe execution practices. Own standards and processes for facility arc flash, short-circuit, and coordination studies, including electrical equipment safety labeling. Maintain clear technical documentation and ensure lessons learned are captured and applied across future work. Provide coaching and informal leadership to engineers, integrators, and project team members on electrical and controls best practices. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related degree with applicable experience or extensive relevant work experience. Significant experience in electrical systems, power distribution, electrical safety, electrical equipment maintenance, and power studies within manufacturing, industrial, or capital project environments. Demonstrated experience leading technical execution for complex capital projects from concept through startup and closeout. Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems. Experience working with high-voltage, medium-voltage, and low-voltage distribution systems, transformers, switchgear, switchboards, protective relays, and related electrical infrastructure. Experience working with external engineering firms, OEMs, and construction or installation partners. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced execution environment. Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively across technical, operational, and project-management teams. Demonstrated technical leadership in a collaborative, cross-functional environment. Working knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards applicable to electrical power systems and equipment, such as ANSI, IEEE, NFPA, and related standards. Ability to travel 50% to 75% based on project phase, site support, and startup activity. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience supporting food manufacturing or other high-volume consumer packaged goods operations. Experience with capital project delivery, commissioning, startup planning, outage coordination, and operational handoff. Familiarity with plant electrical distribution, electrical power system modernization, and electrical system startup. Experience reviewing drawings, startup plans, and contractor deliverables. Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction without direct authority. Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical workstreams across a portfolio of active capital projects. Experience supporting preventive and predictive maintenance improvement efforts in a manufacturing environment. Experience serving as a subject matter expert in electrical safety.
