Role purpose
The Privacy Specialist supports Vodafone Automotive in ensuring GDPR compliance by managing data subject requests, coordinating responses to supervisory authorities, and contributing to privacy governance, documentation, and operational compliance activities across the business.
In particular, this person will support the Privacy function in:
- Regular / Annual Reviews of Policies and Guidelines
- Regular Review of Supplier Risk Assessments
- New Risk Assessments in the context of Vodafone´s SPDA Process
- (Security and Privacy by Design and Assurance)
- Support the Transition of Risk Connect Tool to SAP Risk Management
- Support the Transition of OneTrust to the next generation Privacy Tooling
- Support the Supplier Onboarding Process and regular Risk Assessments as well
- as supplier InLife Controls
- Support Privacy RFQ / RFP questionnaires and audits from Customers and external auditors
- Support regular Privacy Control verifications
- Perform regular reporting of Privacy KRIs to Vodafone Group Privacy
- Support the adoption of AI capabilities for Vodafone Automotive in line with the Vodafone group controls, the EU and national regulatory frameworks. Manage the AI evolution in line with GDPR in the context of AI supported PII data processing
Key accountabilities and decision ownership
- Manage data subject requests (DSRs) end‑to‑end, ensuring accuracy, timely responses, alignment with internal procedures, and compliance with GDPR.
- Coordinate responses to Supervisory Authorities (e.g., Data Protection Authorities and Law Enforcement Agencies), retrieving data, preparing documentation and supporting investigations in collaboration with Legal, Compliance and Security.
- Support privacy governance activities, including maintaining and updating the Record of Processing Activities (ROPA, PRPR), conducting DPIAs, TIAs and contributing to risk assessments.
- Contribute to Vodafone Automotive´s compliance to the Vodafone Privacy Control framework and the 3 Line of Defense evidence-based validation.
- Advise business functions on privacy requirements, offering guidance on new products, services, and initiatives through privacy‑by‑design and privacy‑by‑default principles.
- Contribute to internal privacy awareness, preparing materials and supporting training initiatives to promote compliant behaviors and data protection culture.
Core competencies, knowledge and experience
- Strong knowledge of GDPR and other European privacy frameworks.
- Experience in managing data subject rights and interacting with supervisory authorities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams and explain legal/privacy concepts in a clear, practical way.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ownership mindset.
- Fluent English.
Must have technical / professional qualifications
- Degree in Law or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in privacy/data protection roles.
- Preferred: recognized privacy certifications (e.g., CIPP/E, TÜV, ISO privacy‑related certifications).
- Preferred: Profound skills / experiences of technical security measures supporting privacy controls
