Role Description The Private Tutor at Rebuild Tutoring will deliver individualized instruction to students in one or more subject areas, using remote platforms and digital tools. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing student needs, planning targeted lessons, explaining concepts clearly, guiding practice, and providing constructive feedback. The tutor will track progress, adjust strategies as needed, and communicate regularly with students and caregivers about goals and outcomes. This is a contract role and is fully remote, requiring reliable internet access and a professional virtual presence. The tutor is expected to manage their schedule responsibly, maintain accurate records of sessions, and uphold high standards of academic integrity and learner support.

Qualifications for this role

• Fluent in Afrikaans
• able to teach Afrikaans FAL
• Ability to design and deliver clear, structured lesson plans tailored to individual student needs.
• Strong subject-matter knowledge in one or more academic areas (e.g., math, reading, writing, sciences, test preparation).
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts in simple, accessible terms.
• Comfort with online teaching tools, learning platforms, and virtual collaboration software.
• Demonstrated patience, empathy, and respect for diverse learning styles and backgrounds.
• Strong organizational skills, including time management, record keeping, and reliability in honoring scheduled sessions.
• Prior tutoring, teaching, or mentoring experience is highly beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree or current enrollment in a college or university program in education or a relevant field preferred.
