Summary WesTech Engineering has an immediate opening for a Senior Process Engineer to support our Process Engineering team. This experienced-level role focuses on developing and supporting technical solutions for industrial water and wastewater treatment applications across the project lifecycle, including early-stage opportunity development, proposal generation, and execution support. The Senior Process Engineer performs a full range of assignments including process design, troubleshooting, technical analysis, field support, proposal support, customer engagement, and other tasks as assigned. This position requires the ability to work independently while collaborating across sales, laboratory, and engineering teams to deliver technically sound and commercially competitive solutions. Candidates for this position may be required to pass pre-employment and periodic screenings, including background checks, drug and alcohol tests, or other necessary assessments. Some of the work you will do: Prepare and review preliminary and finalized process flow diagrams, mass balances, project specifications, and technical drawings including PFDs, P&IDs, and hydraulic profiles. Perform process calculations including equipment sizing, chemical reactions, chemical dosing, and other advanced calculations. Apply generally accepted engineering practices and principles with competitive and strategic rationale to help position projects for success. Support proposal development, including scope definition, process descriptions, equipment lists, proposal review, and technical discussions with customers and sales teams. Develop and design advanced treatment solutions with a focus on membrane systems, re-use, high-recovery systems, and other complex applications. Participate in pilot testing, feasibility evaluations, bench-scale testing, process validation, and interpretation of results. Support commissioning, troubleshooting, start-up, RFIs, site process audits, and field technical analysis. Write and review process performance guarantees, improve tools and workflows, and prepare technical content for conferences, internal trainings, and sales support. Communicate with customers and internal teams while supporting and mentoring junior engineers. Office-based role with collaboration across sales, laboratory, engineering, and project teams. Travel approximately 25% for site visits, conferences, sales support, testing, and start-up or commissioning support Here are the skills that you need: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience. 15+ years of relevant process engineering experience. Strong process design fundamentals, including mass balances, process flow diagrams, and equipment sizing. Experience supporting proposals and leading technical process discussions. Demonstrated competency and capability with water chemistry. Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and work independently while collaborating with internal teams. Here are the skills and qualifications that will set you apart: Advanced degree in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Experience with membranes including UF, NF, and RO systems; thermal technologies including evaporators and crystallizers; re-use; high-recovery systems; and other complex treatment technologies. Experience with bench-scale testing, pilot testing, feasibility evaluations, process validation, and interpretation of testing results. Proficiency using process design modeling software, technical tools, and advanced calculation methods. Experience preparing and presenting technical content for conferences, internal trainings, and sales support. Physical Requirements: Ability to perform tasks while in a sedentary position using a computer and phone. Frequently required to engage in talking, hearing, and visual focus.
