About the Role The Product Owner – Utilization Management Applications will own the team backlog and delivery outcomes for OncoHealth’s utilization management (UM) products and capabilities. This role partners closely with Product Management, Engineering, Clinical (e.g., UM nurses/medical directors), Operations, Compliance/Privacy, and Client Success to translate product strategy into clearly defined epics, features, and user stories that improve UM effectiveness, turnaround time, appropriateness, and auditability. The Product Owner drives day-to-day prioritization and release readiness, ensures quality through clear acceptance criteria and stakeholder alignment, and enables the product team to execute efficiently in an agile, fast-moving environment. Primary Responsibilities Partner with Product Management to understand and help execute product vision, strategy, objectives, and success metrics for UM applications and workflows (e.g., prior authorization, medical necessity review, determinations, appeals, and reporting). Translate discovery outputs into clearly defined epics, features, and user stories with acceptance criteria, decision logic, data requirements, and dependencies (including upstream/downstream integrations). Facilitate backlog refinement to ensure stories are sized appropriately, testable, and ready for sprint planning (including clear acceptance criteria, business rules, regulatory/compliance considerations, and non-functional requirements such as security and availability). Own the sprint backlog by defining priorities, clarifying scope, and making tradeoff decisions with the delivery team to meet agreed outcomes for UM capabilities and client commitments. Serve as product and domain SME for UM applications across Product, Engineering, Clinical, Operations, Implementation, and Client Success teams. Use quantitative and qualitative insights (production metrics, user feedback, operational reviews, and client feedback) to identify opportunities, validate impact, and inform backlog priorities. About You Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience required. Agile/Scrum training or certifications preferred. Typical years of experience are 2–4 years in product management, business analysis, product ownership, and/or software product development. Some incumbents may gain these skills or capabilities in other ways and must be demonstrated. Experience delivering workflow-based enterprise applications in an Agile environment required. Prior experience with utilization management, prior authorization, care management operations, or payer/provider clinical operations preferred; healthcare regulatory/compliance exposure (e.g., URAC/NCQA-aligned processes) a plus. Must possess servant leadership qualities, including empowering teams, fostering collaboration, and influencing through clear communication and stewardship. Strong ability to translate strategy into executable backlog, write clear and testable requirements (including workflow states, decision logic, and data requirements), facilitate stakeholder alignment across clinical and operational groups, and make prioritization decisions using data and user insights. Demonstrated comfort working with regulated processes and sensitive health information. Systems/Tools: MS Office Suite and general execution and delivery systems and collaboration tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, Visio/Miro, etc.). Familiarity with workflow management, rules/configuration, reporting/analytics, and healthcare data concepts is preferred. The majority of the team will be remote or in hybrid work arrangements with offices in Atlanta, GA and Guaynabo, PR. Our system improves quality of care, reduces provider abrasion and gives health plans visibility into the total cost of oncology treatment. OncoHealth offers Oncology Insights Pro , an analytic software solution that enables health plans to use data and analytics to improve oncology programs. Using real world data, our engineers normalize data to create analytic dashboards with drill down compatibilities. The data is the paired with expert guidance providing the strategies an insight needed to keep up with the continuing evolving cancer treatment landscape. OncoHealth offers Pharmacy Consulting services to health plans and pharmaceutical companies. New cancer treatments are entering the market at an unrelenting pace. Since 2018, the FDA approved 121 new cancer applications including 49 novel cancer drug entities. Our Board-Certified Oncology Pharmacologists can help health plans update drug policies, offer utilization management and formulary advice, and development training for staff. OncoHealth's latest offering is Iris , a digital telehealth platform that delivers personalized, oncology-specific support to navigate the physical symptoms and emotional challenges caused by cancer and cancer treatment.
