About the Company

We're partnering with a fast-growing European AI company building next-generation automation technology for the insurance industry.

Having established its technology across document intelligence and workflow automation, the business is now building a new agentic AI platform designed to orchestrate AI agents alongside human teams and automate complex insurance operations end-to-end.

Starting with claims and progressively expanding across wider insurance processes, this is a significant product and engineering initiative being built for enterprise insurers across international

markets.

They're now looking for a Senior Product Owner to play a critical role in turning the product vision into technology that engineering can execute against.

The Role

This is a hands-on, technically focused Product Owner role sitting directly between product strategy and engineering delivery.

Working closely with the CTPO, Product Design and Engineering, you'll take high-level product objectives and turn them into clear, prioritised and technically robust requirements.

You'll own the tactical product layer: breaking complex problems into epics and user stories, defining acceptance criteria, modelling workflows and ensuring engineers have the clarity they need to build effectively.

This isn't a high-level roadmap role. You'll be deeply embedded with engineering, making decisions, resolving ambiguity and driving delivery of a complex AI product.

What You'll Be Doing

• Own, structure and continuously prioritise the product backlog
• Translate product strategy and feature briefs into detailed, build-ready specifications
• Write clear user stories, acceptance criteria, edge cases and non-functional requirements
• Analyse and map complex insurance processes, workflows and data
• Work closely with engineers to clarify requirements and make fast scoping decisions
• Run backlog refinement, sprint planning or Kanban flow and story acceptance
• Coordinate releases alongside Engineering and QA
• Translate customer and commercial feedback into clearly defined product requirements
• Maintain accurate product documentation, specifications and decisions
• Help establish consistent product foundations as the platform continues to evolve

Essential Experience

• 5+ years' experience as a Product Owner, Technical Product Manager or Senior Business Analyst
• Experience working within B2B SaaS or complex enterprise software
• Strong track record of owning and managing technically complex product backlogs
• Experience writing detailed specifications that engineering teams can execute against with minimal ambiguity
• Strong technical fluency across APIs, integrations, data models and system behaviour
• Comfortable discussing technical requirements and architectural trade-offs with senior engineers
• Strong experience working directly with software engineering teams
• Experience operating within Scrum, Kanban or similar agile delivery environments
• Excellent written and verbal English

Highly Desirable

• Insurance or insurtech experience
• Experience within another highly regulated environment such as fintech or banking
• Experience building AI/ML products, particularly LLM, agentic AI or automation platforms
• Understanding of microservices and event-driven architectures
• Experience with workflow, BPM or low-code technology
• Exposure to Azure, .NET or Python environments
• Experience building enterprise software for European customers

You'll be highly autonomous, technically curious and comfortable taking an ambiguous problem and driving it towards a clear solution.

You'll enjoy working closely with engineers and be confident challenging requirements, asking detailed questions and making pragmatic decisions without needing constant direction.

We're particularly interested in people who combine the rigour of a strong Business Analyst with the ownership and commercial understanding of an experienced Product Owner.
