Our CaaS platform is a strategic initiative focused on delivering educational content through scalable, reusable, and API-driven services. The platform supports multiple products and markets, enabling efficient content distribution, management, and integration across Sanoma Learning's digital ecosystem.
About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Product Owner to join our CaaS team and drive the development of a modern content platform supporting multiple educational products and markets.
In this role, you will work closely with engineering teams, architects, and business stakeholders to translate complex business needs into scalable product solutions. You will own the product backlog, facilitate agile processes, and ensure alignment across teams while driving continuous product and process improvements.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead discovery and analysis of complex business and user needs
- Collaborate with Engineering Leads, Architects, and senior stakeholders
- Own and refine the Product Backlog: slice Epics into Features and Stories, validate acceptance criteria, and keep priorities transparent to business and engineering
- Prepare and facilitate sprint planning sessions, reviews, and retrospectives within a Scrum environment
- Oversee the creation and quality of documentation
- Facilitate option analysis and solution alignment at a multi-team level
- Ensure scalability, maintainability, and alignment of solutions across markets and product domains
- Define and validate analytics tracking across products and teams
- Guide the identification and prioritisation of production issues, technical debt, and platform-level improvements
- Drive continuous improvement of product workflows, cross-team processes, and delivery practices
Must-have Requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Ability to investigate and clarify business and internal user needs and impacts
- Understanding of system architecture, APIs, and integration patterns
- Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Skilled in stakeholder alignment and facilitation
- Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum/SAFe)
- Proficiency with Jira and Confluence
- Highly organized with strong prioritization and multitasking abilities
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written
- Proactive and positive “can-do” attitude, demonstrating initiative and resilience
Nice-to-have Requirements
- Experience managing dependencies across teams
- Experience in the education or edtech sector, or a willingness to quickly build domain knowledge
- Familiarity with microservice architecture and multi-market SaaS products
- Experience with data-driven decision-making and defining tracking requirements
- Hands-on experience with APIs, content platforms, data pipelines, or microservices architectures
- Experience with semantic metadata, taxonomy design, or learning content models
- Demonstrated interest or experience in AI-driven solutions and data-enabled products
