For more information about C&F, please visit our website: www.cfins.com Job Description The Product Owner - Duck Creek serves as Digital Services’ liaison to stakeholders for a specific product, ensuring that stakeholder needs are accurately captured, prioritized, and delivered by that product. This role is a promotion path for Senior Business Analysts, combining strategic planning, delivery oversight, and stakeholder engagement. The Product Owner may lead a small team of business analysts, depending on the need, and will collaborate closely with IT, development, and QA teams to deliver business value through their product. The Product Owner role requires an advanced understanding of their product and how it fits into the Surplus & Specialty ecosystem as well as the larger Crum & Forster organization. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, possess an entrepreneurial spirit, have a service mentality, and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment. The Product Owner is a member of the Surplus & Specialty Lines (SSL) Digital Services team, supporting the Underwriting, Claims and Billing & Collections business units. SSL underwrites both admitted and non-admitted business for General Liability, Automobile Liability, Workers Compensation, Property, Inland Marine, and Excess/Umbrella lines of business across multiple industry verticals, including but not limited to Contracting, Transportation, Energy, Security, and Environmental. What you will do: Strategy & Planning Represent the voice of the stakeholder/product team and clearly articulate the problem to be solved or the opportunity to be captured while aligning to business strategy. Foster strong relationships with stakeholders to anticipate future needs/opportunities and translate stakeholder goals into actionable digital initiatives for their product. Contribute to the vision for the product by collaborating with stakeholders to define and refine the product roadmap. Own and maintain the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business priorities and strategic objectives. Lead or facilitate design and discovery sessions to prototype solutions and gather feedback. Establish and manage scope and parameters of the product to define predictable outcomes and action plans. Review the effectiveness and efficiency of the user experience for the product and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging the product. Execution & Delivery Prioritize and manage backlog items to ensure timely and high-quality delivery. Serve as a primary point of contact for stakeholders regarding the product. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure requirements clarity, solution alignment, and testing readiness. Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to ensure continuous improvement. Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders at all levels. Write clear and concise user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria. Validate deliverables against business expectations. Provide product demonstrations to business stakeholders. Ensure post-implementation support, including training, documentation, and change management. Team Management Manage and mentor a team of 2–5 Business Analysts. Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and identify training opportunities. Review and approve requests for time-off Assess team capacity and allocate resources based on project demands. What you will bring to C&F: Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum 6–8+ years of relevant experience in business analysis or product digital delivery. At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or lead role. Experience working with Duck Creek, Guidewire or other similar Policy Administration platforms. Strong understanding of P&C insurance workflows and systems. Proven experience in business analysis, product ownership, or delivery leadership. Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholder expectations and drive consensus. Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence). The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $87,000 to a maximum of $140,000. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
