Role Description This is a remote volunteer role for Professors and AI Researchers (PhD) who wish to contribute their expertise to advancing inclusive AI. Day-to-day responsibilities may include designing and conducting AI research projects, advising on model architectures and evaluation methods, and reviewing experimental results for rigor and impact. The role involves collaborating with internal teams on research proposals, publishing or co-authoring papers, and helping define best practices for multilingual and multicultural AI systems. Participants may also mentor junior researchers, suggest datasets and benchmarks, and provide strategic guidance on ethical and responsible AI development.
Qualifications

• Strong background in AI-related disciplines such as machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, or data science.
• PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related field, or equivalent research experience.
• Experience designing and executing research studies, including experimental setup, data analysis, and empirical evaluation.
• Track record of publications in peer-reviewed conferences or journals, or substantial contributions to open-source AI projects.
• Ability to work collaboratively in remote, cross-functional teams and communicate complex concepts clearly in writing and speech.
• Interest in multilingual, multicultural, and real-world applications of AI, with sensitivity to ethical and societal impacts.
• Familiarity with common AI tools and frameworks (e.g., Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX) and modern research workflows.
• Willingness to contribute time and expertise on a volunteer basis and support a mission-driven organization.
