Salary Range: $65,400.00 To $89,900.00 Annually PROGRAM MANAGER, ATHLETE MARKETING AND OLYMPIAN LEGACY Be part of building a national brand. Headquartered in Toronto, the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) is a national, private, not-for-profit organization committed to high-performance sports excellence. We are the largest private supporter of high-performance sport in Canada and we are responsible for all aspects of Canada’s involvement in the Olympic Movement, including the participation in the Olympic and Pan American Games. Reporting to the Manager, Athlete Marketing and Olympian Legacy (AMOL), the Program Manager AMOL role contributes to the AMOL strategy and provides expertise to athlete engagement across all Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) and Canadian Olympic Foundation (COF) departments. The Athlete Marketing and Olympian Legacy strategies fulfill COC’s mission of promoting the values and principles of Olympism and leading the achievement of the Canadian Olympic Team’s success. Connecting athletes with fans, partners, and communities is a key pillar to promote the Olympic Movement and growing the profile and impact of Olympians. LOCATION This position will be located in one of the COC’s offices (Montreal, QC, at 500 René-Lévesque Boulevard West; or in Toronto, ON at 250 Yonge St. Suite 3000). We offer a hybrid work model that allows for up to two days of remote work each week. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND PRIORITIES Strategy, Planning and Oversight Develop and implement the Olympian Communication Strategy including: Build yearly communication calendar Build key messages and manage OLY communications tools: website, newsletter, mailbox and social media assets. Monitor the performance of the communication plan. Manage the execution of the grant programs available to the community of Olympians, including planning, communication, stakeholder relations, and reporting Recruit and manage freelance contributors and interns Athlete Marketing and Olympian Legacy Serve as a go-to-resource for internal teams and key stakeholders regarding the athlete community, their stories and their potential fit for inclusion in COC related engagements Provide recommendations that are fair and aligned with strategy and objectives of the given initiative Ensure fair and reasonable compensation for Team Canada Olympians and Olympic hopefuls on participating in paid appearances Contribute to effective implementation of the Athlete Engagement protocol and athlete engagement compensation framework including internal rate card Provide recommendations for Team Canada/COC athlete engagement opportunities such as but not limited to: Grant program activations COC Community Engagement initiatives Pre- and Post-Games Event Initiatives as required Media Events Other ad-hoc requests as required Act as Athlete Liaison for each of the initiatives listed above as required Facilitate athlete engagement requests from external parties, when relevant Support in the roll-out of the Athlete Engagement operational plan during Games in host city and/or at home and collaborate with the different business units to ensure a smooth and secure experience for athletes Build, maintain and strengthen relationships with the following groups: Team Canada Olympians Athlete Representatives - more than 50 Agents; National Sport Organizations - 55 NSOs Communication or Marketing leads; Corporate partners - Via our Partnership team; and Other stakeholders - CPC, Sport Canada, OLY Canada, etc. Support the AMOL Manager in his/her role to facilitate the COC OLY Canada Commission’s initiatives Contribute to COC’s athlete-centric approach in its programs, policies and practices Other duties, as assigned QUALIFICATIONS AND CRITICAL SKILLS Education and Experience Olympian ; familiarity with current and retired Olympians an asset Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience in Sport Marketing, Communications or a related field 3 to 5 years' related work experience Skills and Abilities Bilingualism required ( French and English ) Knowledge and understanding of the Canadian Sport System, Games environment, COC and international sport landscape Knowledge and understanding of marketing, fundraising and digital concepts In-depth knowledge of Olympic sports and familiarity with Team Canada Olympians and hopefuls Business acumen Ability to build and maintain effective relationships both internally and externally with a diverse range of stakeholders, contexts, and audiences Ability to negotiate cross-functionally, listen, be organized and argue effectively Ability to adapt to change, with a problem-solving mindset Ability to manage multiple initiatives at the same time Strong time management skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Proficiency with the Office and Google Suite of tools Some knowledge of Mailchimp, Word Press or other marketing platforms Team player with the creativity spirit Demonstrates and embodies the COC values of Accountability, Excellence, Fun, Respect and Bravery Commitment Possibility of occasional national travel or infrequent international travel Possibility of prolonged travel during Games (approx. 3-4 weeks) Work some evenings and weekends COMPENSATION The expected salary range for this role is $65,400 to $89,900 per year. The base pay within this range is based on a number of factors, including relevant experience, skills, qualifications, internal pay equity, and market benchmarks.
