Job Description The UW School of Law has an outstanding opportunity for a Program Operations Specialist to join their team. About this Opportunity Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Operations Specialist plays a key role in advancing the University of Washington School of Law's global programming and public service mission. The position manages many of the day-to-day operations of the Barer Institute for Leadership in Law & Global Development and the Sustainable International Development (SID) LLM Program, ensuring effective delivery of scholarly programming, financial oversight, scholarship administration, student support, and events coordination. The Program Operations Specialist serves as a primary resource for students, fellows, scholars, alumni, faculty, and community partners while helping strengthen the impact and visibility of the School of Law's international initiatives. This is a full-time position with the expectation of working on campus three days per week and remotely two days per week. Key Responsibilities Program Operations ( 75 %): Manage the day-to-day operations of the Barer Institute and Sustainable International Development (SID) Program, including student and fellow onboarding, scholarship and award administration, budget and financial tracking, program compliance, admissions support, alumni engagement, student services, and operational processes that support program delivery and participant success. Public Outreach and Events ( 15 %): Coordinate and support lectures, webinars, educational programming, and community engagement events; develop and distribute marketing and communications materials; and assist with stewardship, recruitment, alumni communications, and public outreach efforts. Other Duties ( 1 0 %): Recruit, train, and supervise student employees and provide additional administrative and operational support to advance the goals of the Barer Institute and Sustainable International Development Program. Minimum Qualifications Applicants who do not meet these qualifications WILL NOT be forwarded to the Hiring Department. Bachelor’s Degree 2 years of experience in Program Operations, Project Management, Higher Education, Philanthropy, or a related area . Additional Qualifications Excellent oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills; ability to manage multiple stakeholder relationships and communicate effectively with diverse audiences. Ability to work effectively both on a team and independently. Excellent organizational skills, time management skills, and attention to detail. Ability to work independently with a high degree of reliability, accuracy, and productivity. Proficient with spreadsheets and databases. Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 tools, Google Suite, Canva, and a willingness to learn new software and technology. Proficient with fiscal management, event planning, and project management. Strong goal and results orientation, strategic thinking, problem-solving abilities, sound judgment, and discretion with sensitive information. Preferred Qualifications Experience with University of Washington systems such as Workday, Student Database, Canvas, or similar platforms. Experience developing content for social media platforms and digital communications. Working Conditions Hybrid work schedule with an expectation of three days on campus and two days remote. Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 20 pounds. Occasional support for events outside of standard business hours.
