Programmer Analyst 2 Requisition ID req37725 Working Title Programmer Analyst 2 Position Grade 13 Position Summary Due to budgetary constraints, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The Enrollment Management Reporting Team (EMRT) is seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual who enjoys a diverse range of projects and has proven ability to gather and analyze data and generate reports. EMRT provides direct technical support for the offices of Registrar, Recruitment and Admissions, Financial Aid and other Enrollment Management departments in developing and maintaining applications and reports. While focused on the needs of enrollment management, the incumbent works closely with colleagues from Institutional Research and Information Technology to ensure that all reporting meets the highest standards of accuracy and technical efficiency. Expanding and sustaining processes and interactive reporting capabilities to the university community, including providing training opportunities for end users. The ideal candidate will be able to research, evaluate, design, and execute data reporting requests for UNM departments and colleges with limited supervision. Under limited supervision, this position provides specialized, professional level expertise in areas of application support, data analysis and report writing. Gathers information, defines work requirements, plans and implements projects. Writes, tests, and troubleshoots advanced code, including the development of custom packages, tables, and complex SQL reporting queries. Serves as the primary technical resource for implementing and maintaining applications in Oracle Application Express (APEX), Python, and IBI WebFOCUS. During the probationary period, new employees are trained on-site in the Enrollment Management Office. After the probationary period is complete, new employees that have successfully demonstrated completion of workload actions according to standard operating procedures and maintained consistency in production volume, the option to enter into hybrid or remote arrangements in coordination with EMRT Management may be available. Duties and Responsibilities: Extensive knowledge and experience in writing SQL. Experience using reporting tools to manipulate data, prepare reports and conduct analyses from multiple, large complex data sets. Demonstrated experience providing application support, including troubleshooting of end-user issues and developing solutions to recurring problems. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, and adaptability to support multiple priorities. Demonstrated ability to work independently and complete large projects successfully. Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing to end users and other support staff, developers, and technical staff. See the Position Description for additional information. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of progressively responsible experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year-for-year basis. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated experience developing reports using IBI WebFOCUS or similar reporting platforms. Experience with Ellucian Banner ODS, Appworx batch job scheduling, and Oracle Data Integrator (ODI). Technical expertise in developing applications and reports using Oracle Application Express (APEX). Knowledge of Python or similar programming languages for application development, data processing, automation, or reporting. Familiarity with nebulaONE and/or Microsoft Copilot. Experience working in a higher education environment. Proficiency in University of New Mexico (UNM) student data, including applicable privacy, security, and regulatory compliance requirements, particularly FERPA.
