Department: 85126 Wake Forest University Health Sciences - Academic Office of Informatics Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hou rs Per Week: 40 Schedule Details/Additional Information: 1st shift, Hybrid/remote eligible Pay Range: $38.20 - $57.30 The Wake Forest University School of Medicine and the Office of Institutional Learning and Transformation is seeking an Analytics Engineer to work on their CAPTURE initiative to enable our faculty, staff, and leadership to continuously monitor and improve performance and effectiveness at the School and across the clinical enterprise. Working within a modern data stack, you will build and maintain trusted, analytics-ready data products that support reporting, decision-making, and advanced analytics initiatives. This role combines strong SQL and data modeling expertise with a focus on data quality, automation, and scalable design. Job Summary Under limited supervision, designs and implements large and complicated research information systems. Exhibits ability to learn to use a variety of research computer software tools and operating system environments. Provides computer systems maintenance support for an assigned department/section. What You'll Do Develop and maintain analytics-ready datasets using dbt and SQL. Design dimensional models and semantic data structures that support downstream analysts. Implement data quality testing, documentation, and governance standards. Explore and model data across numerous enterprise systems, gaining unique visibility into how academic, clinical, financial, research, and operational domains intersect. Partner with business stakeholders, analysts, and data engineers to translate requirements into scalable data solutions. Contribute to analytics engineering standards and data platform improvements. What We're Looking For Strong SQL and data modeling skills. Experience with dbt and cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, or Redshift. Experience with data quality testing, Git-based development, and CI/CD practices. Clear and direct communication skills about complex, technical topics. Demonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership of deliverables, and drive projects to completion with minimal supervision. Education/Experience Bachelor's degree in computer course and four years' experience in computer programming or operations research required; Or an equivalent combination of education and experience in computer programming. Experience with the installation and maintenance of personal computers.
