Programs Officer – Ebonyi/Remote (RIO Foundation)

The Programs Officer will be responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring RIO Foundation’s programs and projects. This role ensures timely delivery of initiatives within scope and budget, aligned with organizational goals, donor requirements, and community needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, planning, and implementation of programs and projects.
• Develop project work plans, budgets, timelines, and activity schedules.
• Coordinate field activities and liaise with beneficiaries, partners, and stakeholders.
• Monitor program performance using defined indicators and tools.
• Collect, analyze, and document program data and success stories.
• Prepare narrative and financial reports for management and donors.
• Ensure compliance with donor guidelines, organizational policies, and regulations.
• Identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Support proposal writing and concept note development.
• Organize trainings, workshops, and community outreach activities.
  
  

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Project Management, Public Administration, or related field.
• 2–5 years’ experience in program or project coordination within an NGO or development organization.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Experience with donor-funded projects is an advantage.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
