CREATIVITY IS OUR SUPERPOWER. It’s our heritage and it’s also our future. Because we don’t just make toys. We create innovative products and experiences that inspire fans, entertain audiences and develop children through play. Mattel is at its best when every member of our team feels respected, included, and heard—when everyone can show up as themselves and do their best work every day. We value and share an infinite range of ideas and voices that evolve and broaden our perspectives with a reach that extends into all our brands, partners, and suppliers. The Opportunity: The Barbie Product Design Team is a group of passionate and inspired designers dedicated to evolving one of the world's most iconic brands through innovative product design, storytelling, and play experiences. We are looking for a Project Administrator to support the Barbie Product Design Team in El Segundo, CA. This role will be a critical member of the team, helping coordinate product samples, support milestone reviews, and ensure seamless collaboration across cross-functional partners. This person will serve as a key liaison among multiple teams, managing day-to-day communication and operational processes. We are looking for someone with excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Passion for product design and the Barbie brand is a plus. What Your Impact Will Be: Coordinate photo studio product samples, including ordering, tracking, and distribution of physical samples to external studio production partners. Organize and maintain accurate product sample inventories to ensure product integrity for photography, color reviews, and milestone presentations. Partner with the design team to prepare products and materials for milestone reviews, design packages, presentations, and style guides. Work with creative and technical execution teams to ensure product accuracy. Strong styling instincts and attention to detail are essential when preparing product samples and communicating styling direction to cross-functional partners. Collaborate closely with Product Design, Packaging, Creative Operations, Photo Studio teams, and Art Directors to coordinate product samples for photo shoots, milestone meetings, and presentations. Organize and communicate product updates, changes, and next steps across multiple stakeholder groups. Manage product sample ordering and tracking processes to support the Barbie Product Design Team, maintain organized product archives, and ensure design spaces and sample inventories are updated with the latest products and prototypes. Provide general administrative and project coordination support to ensure the smooth operation of the Product Design organization. What We’re Looking For: Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves. 2+ years of experience in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional attention to detail and strong sense of urgency. Experience using Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships across the organization. Trusted partner who can handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion. Ability to adapt quickly and effectively manage changing priorities and schedules. Strong collaboration skills and experience serving as a liaison between multiple teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Outstanding organizational, planning, and prioritization capabilities. Proactive mindset with the ability to identify process improvements and implement solutions. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed. *The pay range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base pay will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
