Project Cargo Specialist

We are expanding our in-house Project Cargo team and looking for a colleague with real operational experience in oversized, heavy and project cargo. You will work on live case files — both winning new business and delivering active shipments in progress — for clients in energy, oil & gas, heavy industry, rolling stock and infrastructure, with full ownership of your files, both operationally and commercially.

We are not looking for someone to train from scratch. We are looking for someone who has done this work before and wants to do it better, with real resources and access to major projects.

What you will do

• You will actively promote our services and pursue new project cargo opportunities to grow the pipeline.
• Own the full lifecycle of your assigned files — from enquiry and quotation through execution to financial close.
• Design multimodal transport schemes (sea — breakbulk, MPP, heavy lift vessels; oversized road; rail; Danube barge), including route surveys, load calculations, stowage & lashing plans, vessel nomination, and permits.
• Coordinate the subcontractor network (carriers, oversized road operators, barge operators, surveyors, customs brokers, port agents) and negotiate commercial terms directly.
• Act as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, with a clear mandate to grow the accounts.
• Anticipate and manage operational risks, with autonomous decision-making when interventions are required.
• Ensure full compliance (documentation, customs, HSE) and report any incidents or unsafe conditions without delay.

Essential experience and knowledge

• Minimum 3-4 years of direct operational experience in project cargo, heavy lift, OOG or breakbulk, with end-to-end shipments you can describe in detail.
• Working knowledge of the applicable legal and procedural framework: Romanian oversized transport regulations (HG 1317/2023, ARR/CNAIR permits), Constanța port operations, IMO/CTU Code for cargo securing, IMDG where applicable, customs procedures for project cargo.
• Hands-on experience in at least two transport modes (out of sea, oversized road, rail, barge), with direct involvement in route surveys, load calculations, stowage & lashing plans, vessel nomination.
• Real market knowledge of the subcontractor and client base for project cargo — heavy lift carriers, oversized road operators in the region, barge operators, surveyors, specialised customs brokers, EPC clients and end-users in the target sectors.
• Commercial experience: quotations, tender participation, negotiation, file-level financial follow-up.
• Working English (written and spoken) — used in day-to-day professional correspondence.
• Valid driving licence (Category B); availability to travel for site visits, port inspections, and customer/subcontractor meetings.

• Cross-border project experience in the Balkans / Central & Eastern Europe.
• A second foreign language (German, Italian, Serbian, Turkish, etc.).
• Knowledge of international commercial law (Incoterms 2020, BL, charter parties).

Recruitment process
