Project Developer – Permitting | Renewable Energy | Germany

About the Role

We are supporting an international renewable energy company in the appointment of a Project Developer – Permitting to support the continued development of its growing German portfolio.

The position will focus on the development and permitting of utility-scale renewable energy projects, including Solar PV, Agri-PV and Battery Energy Storage (BESS).

This is an opportunity to join an entrepreneurial team where you will take ownership of projects, work closely with internal and external stakeholders, and support projects from early-stage development through key permitting milestones.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage renewable energy projects through the German planning and permitting process.
• Prepare, coordinate and manage permit applications.
• Work closely with municipalities, authorities, landowners and other relevant stakeholders.
• Coordinate external consultants, engineers, planners and technical partners.
• Manage project timelines and ensure key development milestones are achieved.
• Support projects from early-stage development through RtP and potentially RtB.
• Work closely with land acquisition, engineering and commercial teams.
• Assess technical, commercial and environmental requirements for projects.
• Provide regular reporting on project progress, risks and next steps.
• Support the wider growth of the renewable energy portfolio in Germany.

Your Profile

• Professional experience in renewable energy project development and/or permitting in Germany.
• Experience with Solar PV, Agri-PV, BESS or Onshore Wind projects is highly relevant.
• Good understanding of German planning and permitting processes.
• Comfortable managing multiple projects and external stakeholders independently.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Fluent German and good English skills.
• Willingness to travel within Germany when required.
