Opportunity Overview

Our client is an established UK technology company with over two decades of experience, providing secure, mission-critical communication and workforce management solutions to a large user base spanning multiple countries. They're looking for a Project Manager to own day-to-day oversight of their development teams in Jira, tracking who's working on what and keeping delivery on track.

Role Description

As Project Manager, you'll take ownership of day-to-day tracking across the client's development teams, using Jira as the single source of truth for progress. You'll manage sprint boards, backlogs, and ticket status, flagging blockers, overdue tickets, and workload imbalances as they arise. Running daily standups solo, you'll keep visibility on task ownership and delivery timelines across multiple developers and engineers, reporting progress and delivery status directly to leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Sprint Tracking - Own day-to-day tracking of what each developer and engineer is working on in Jira.
• Board Management - Manage sprint boards, backlogs, and ticket status, keeping Jira the single source of truth.
• Blocker Flagging - Flag blockers, overdue tickets, and workload imbalances across the development team.
• Daily Standups - Run daily standups and check-ins solo to maintain visibility on task ownership and timelines.
• Leadership Reporting - Report progress and delivery status up to leadership on a regular basis.

Minimum Qualifications

• Jira Expertise - Strong hands-on Jira experience across boards, sprints, backlog grooming, and reporting.
• Dev Team PM Experience - Proven project management experience specifically within software or development teams.
• Solo Sprint Ownership - Comfortable running sprint tracking and daily standups solo across multiple workstreams.
• Multi-Developer Oversight - Experience overseeing several developers' or engineers' workstreams at once.
• 3-5 Years' Experience - Minimum 3 years in a project management role overseeing technical delivery.

Bonus Qualifications

• Agile/Scrum Background - Experience running Agile or Scrum ceremonies day to day.
• Tech Sector Experience - Background in telecoms, SaaS, or mobile app development environments.
• Existing Team Handover - Experience stepping into a PM role on an existing dev team rather than building one from scratch.
