This package includes health and wellness, retirement savings, discounted access to Greeley facilities and more. *This position is a full-time, term-limited position funded for twelve (12) months from the date of hire, with the possibility of becoming permanent if additional funding is approved at a later date. * Job Summary The Project Manager I/II - HPG is an entry-level to journey-level professional role responsible for managing assigned projects and coordinating cross-functional activities to support the successful delivery of organizational initiatives. Working under direct to general supervision, this position assists with and manages all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, scope definition, design, execution, monitoring, implementation, delivery, and closeout. The incumbent tracks project progress against timelines, project milestones, budget guidelines, deliverables, and other performance measures, and prepares status updates and reports for leadership and senior management. This role handles routine issues independently, addresses moderately complex issues and problems, and escalates more complex matters to higher-level staff or management as appropriate. This role may also provide leadership, coaching, or mentoring to subordinate staff or project team members, as assigned. Experience, Education, and Skills Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Project Management, Information Technology, or a related field. For Project Manager I : Zero to two (0-2) years of experience in project coordination, project management support, administrative analysis, or a closely related field. For Project Manager II : Two to four (2-4) years of experience in project coordination, project management support, administrative analysis, or a closely related field. Possession of a valid driver’s license. OR Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Basic to solid working knowledge of project management principles, practices, and project lifecycle activities. Skill in project scheduling, milestone tracking, and coordinating multiple tasks and project activities to support timely project delivery. Ability to monitor and evaluate progress against timelines, budgets, and performance indicators and prepare clear, accurate reports for management. Ability to gather, research, analyze, and organize information needed to support project planning, decision-making, and issue resolution. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with team members, stakeholders, consultants, vendors, leadership, and other partners. Ability to work effectively as part of a team under direct to general supervision. Ability to address routine issues, handle moderately complex matters independently, and escalate more complex matters appropriately. Skill in organization, time management, prioritization, and attention to detail. For Project Manager II : Ability to provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to others, as assigned. Essential Functions Project Manager I – HPG Coordinate project activities across multiple departments, functions, or work groups to support timely and effective project delivery. Assist in planning and managing all phases of the project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, scope definition, design, execution, monitoring, and closeout. Develop and maintain project schedules, milestone trackers, status reports, and related project documentation. Monitor project progress against established timelines, budget guidelines, deliverables, and other performance indicators. Identify project risks, issues, and dependencies; communicate concerns promptly and escalate complex issues as needed. Support project meetings by preparing agendas, documenting action items, and tracking follow-up tasks. Communicate project updates, timelines, and deliverables to internal stakeholders and senior management. Prepare routine and ad hoc reports regarding project status, budget performance, milestone completion, and implementation activities. Assist with scope clarification, resource coordination, and prioritization of project tasks. Support the selection, coordination, negotiation, and oversight of external consultants, contractors, or vendors, in accordance with organizational procedures. Help ensure project activities comply with applicable policies, procedures, standards, and contractual requirements. Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to gather information, resolve basic issues, and support project objectives. Maintain organized and accurate project files, records, and documentation. • Participate in process improvement efforts related to project planning, tracking, and delivery. Supports portfolio management processes by helping define and scope proposed projects, developing clear business cases, and presenting recommendations to the PMO to inform project prioritization and go/no-go decisions. Serves as a liaison to City departments by assessing current needs and operational challenges, identifying opportunities for support, and acting as a primary point of contact for services provided by the Department of Innovation and High Performance. Performs other duties as assigned. Project Manager II – HPG Performs all essential functions of Project Manager I - HPG, and in addition: Leads and manages assigned projects across multiple departments, functions, or work groups to ensure effective and timely project delivery. Independently addresses moderately complex project issues, constraints, and dependencies; recommends solutions and escalates more complex matters when necessary. Collaborates with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, priorities, and expected outcomes. Monitors consultant, contractor, or vendor performance to help ensure project requirements, timelines, and service expectations are met. Facilitates communication among project stakeholders and provides updates regarding schedules, deliverables, risks, and implementation activities. Provides leadership, guidance, coaching, and/or mentoring to subordinate staff, junior employees, or project team members, as assigned. Promotes collaborative working relationships to support project success and organizational objectives. Supervisory Responsibilities N/A Travel Category A-Standard Local Travel: This position requires occasional local travel within the County. Employees may be expected to walk or drive short distances to attend meetings, trainings, or perform work at other city buildings or partner sites. Work Environment Primarily based in a standard office environment, which involves working at a desk or workstation for extended periods. Work is generally performed during standard business hours; occasional early or late hours may be required to support project deadlines, system implementations, or public meetings. The noise level is generally low to moderate, consistent with a typical office setting. This position may occasionally require visits to other offices or off-site locations for meetings or project work, depending on job responsibilities. Meetings are conducted in person, by phone, and via video conferencing. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer workstation. Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching in an office setting. Ability to lift or carry light office materials, typically up to 10–20 pounds, such as files, binders, or a laptop. Frequent use of hands and fingers for keyboarding, mouse use, and handling documents. Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and via video, including speaking and hearing. Visual ability to read printed materials and view computer monitors for extended periods.
