Position : Project Manager (P8) – IT Infrastructure Projects Location : Bonn OR Munich Field : Defence Type : Full-time Travel: Up to 20% Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead medium- to high-complexity IT infrastructure projects in a security-sensitive environment. The role covers the full project lifecycle, from solution development through implementation and commissioning. The Project Manager is responsible for schedule, budget, quality, scope, stakeholder coordination, supplier management, risk management, and project controlling. The position requires strong experience in IT project management as well as the ability to translate customer requirements into suitable IT processes and technical solutions. Responsibilities Coordinate, plan, and deliver IT projects of medium to high complexity from solution development through implementation and commissioning. Take responsibility for project schedule, budget, quality, scope, and overall delivery. Translate customer requirements into new or existing IT processes and technical solutions. Support the technical and organisational implementation of agreed solutions. Identify, assess, and coordinate dependencies, changes, and project risks within the assigned area of responsibility. Manage and coordinate project team members, external suppliers, and service providers. Resolve goal conflicts, resource conflicts, and competing stakeholder interests. Perform comprehensive stakeholder management across customers, specialist departments, technical teams, and management. Prepare and maintain detailed project plans covering milestones, deadlines, dependencies, and deliverables. Monitor project progress and initiate corrective actions where required. Conduct project controlling and regularly report on project status, risks, milestones, and dependencies. Coordinate interdisciplinary teams involved in IT infrastructure delivery. Ensure structured project documentation and transparent communication throughout the project lifecycle. Support workshops, project meetings, status meetings, and decision-making processes. Apply recognised project management methodologies and standards appropriate to the project environment. Qualifications Successfully completed degree in: Business Administration, Business Informatics, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a comparable discipline with a strong IT focus. Comparable recognised qualifications may also be considered where supported by relevant professional experience. Project Management Certification One of the following or an equivalent recognised qualification is required: IPMA Level C PMI PMP PRINCE2 Practitioner Comparable qualifications may include recognised professional project-management programmes or academic qualifications with a substantial project-management component. Any time-limited certification used as evidence should be valid at the time of submission. Required Professional Experience At least 6 years of continuous and substantive professional experience managing medium- to high-complexity projects within the IT sector. Demonstrable experience applying established project management methodologies. Proven responsibility for: project planning, milestone management, budget and cost control, scope management, quality management, risk management, dependency management, change coordination, stakeholder management, supplier management, and project reporting. Experience managing interdisciplinary project teams and external suppliers. Experience working in technically complex IT environments, ideally involving infrastructure services, distributed IT systems, central IT infrastructure, migrations, or comparable implementation projects. Tools & Technical Knowledge Strong practical knowledge of: Microsoft Project Microsoft Outlook Microsoft Visio Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel Microsoft PowerPoint SharePoint Jira Experience using these tools for project planning, documentation, collaboration, reporting, status tracking, and stakeholder coordination is expected. Language Requirements German: C1 Strong professional written and spoken communication skills are required. Language proficiency should correspond to the CEFR framework unless German is the candidate's native language.
