Proposal Manager / Proposal Writer Location: Fairfax, VA Hybrid (Remote Mondays & Fridays) Nationwide IT Services (NIS), a rapidly growing Federal Government contractor, is seeking a Proposal Manager / Proposal Writer to join our Capture team. This role is ideal for a strong writer looking to grow in Federal proposal management while supporting all phases of proposal development. Responsibilities Analyze solicitation requirements and assist with proposal outlines, compliance matrices, schedules, and content assignments. Develop and edit technical, management, staffing, and past performance sections. Transform technical notes and SME input into clear, customer-focused proposal narratives. Support proposal activities including kickoff meetings, color reviews, final editing, formatting, and submission. Maintain proposal templates, resumes, and past performance libraries while ensuring compliance with customer requirements. Write, edit, and coordinate proposal responses for Federal RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, Task Orders, and White Papers. Work with Business Development, Capture, Program Managers, and technical SMEs to develop compliant, compelling proposal content. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business, Communications, English, IT, Engineering, or a related field. 2–5 years of experience supporting Federal proposal development, proposal writing, proposal coordination, or technical writing. Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Shipley proposal methodology. Experience supporting DoD or Civilian Federal agencies. Familiarity with IDIQs, GWACs, and Federal contract vehicles. Experience with compliance matrices, storyboards, color team reviews, and proposal production.
