About the role As the Prudential Capital Specialist, you will play a key role in overseeing and managing capital calculations, planning, and regulatory reporting across Australia and New Zealand. You will be responsible for the calculation of the Prescribed Capital Requirement (PCR), while supporting the development of the Capital Plan and Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) to ensure compliance with prudential regulatory requirements. Working in a dual-country environment, you will partner closely with Finance, Risk, Actuarial, and Group stakeholders to provide capital insights, support strategic decision-making, and strengthen capital management frameworks. What the role looks like · Lead the calculation, review, and reporting of capital requirements across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring compliance with APRA, RBNZ, and internal governance standards. · Prepare capital analysis, insights, and reporting for senior leadership, supporting informed business and strategic decision-making. · Own key capital planning activities, including ICAAP, stress testing, forecasting, and scenario modelling. · Partner closely with Finance, Risk, Actuarial, and Group teams to align on capital methodologies, assumptions, and reporting requirements. · Analyse capital trends, drivers, and sensitivities, providing recommendations to optimise capital outcomes. · Support regulatory engagement and submissions, working with APRA, RBNZ, and internal stakeholders as required. · Contribute to finance transformation initiatives, system enhancements, and the strengthening of controls and processes related to capital reporting. What you’ll bring · Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, with CA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualifications. · Strong understanding of insurance financial frameworks, including APRA standards and IFRS 17. · Experience in technical accounting, finance systems, transformation, or change initiatives within a complex environment. · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial, regulatory, and operational requirements. · Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across Finance, Operations, IT, Risk, and external partners. · Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into practical business outcomes. · A proactive, detail-oriented, and continuous improvement mindset, with a passion for enhancing processes, controls, and systems.
