Here's a Summary Of Responsibilities

Under the direction and supervision of the Lead Psychological Services Provider, the Psychological Services Provider will support the implementation of psychological services and programming for Team USA including assigned National Governing Bodies (NGBs) throughout the country. The Psychological Services Provider will assist in implementingthe clinicalpathways for psychological assessment, referrals, treatment/interventions, and management and will serve as a case manager for psychology referrals.

The Psychological Services Provider is clinically competent and continuously maintains current licensure and certification in the field. The Psychological Services Provider must be experienced in the care of elite and diverse athlete populations and in creating and completing medical documentation.

The Psychological Services Provider will provide treatment that spans the spectrum of psychological care for athletes from mental performance to mental health concerns and mental illness.

Here’s How You’ll Have An Impact

  • Serve as a point of contact and psychology provider for Team USA athletes and NGBs. Provide crisis intervention, psychological evaluation and assessment, and referral services. Facilitate case management process for psychology referrals. Offer outreach and education resources on psychology as needed.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team of providers to determine and deliver the appropriate services for Olympic and Paralympic athletes and teams.
  • Provide individual and group psychology services for Team USA athletes. Provide remote services to Team USA athletes and NGBs across the country and around the world as needed.
  • Provide a high level of service and communication at all timestoall entities.
  • Provide educational psychology materials for coaches and NGBs to help facilitate the psychological needs of their athletes and teams.
  • Support the USOPC Psychological Services registries and referral process.
  • Support the implementation of athlete psychological services policies and procedures for daily operations and Games environments. Assist in the training of athletes, coaches, and staff on these policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the development of an environment for USOPC team members and Olympic and Paralympic athletes that is healthy, safe, equitable, and culturally diverse.
  • Provide psychological services coverage for events, practices, training camps, and competitions at Olympic & Paralympic Training Centers, Training Sites, and around the country and world, including at Olympic and/or Paralympic Games. Support the implementation of strategies for providing care at major national and international competitions and Games.
  • Consult with key stakeholders to develop and implement individualized and targeted psychological services for each athlete/team. Work with Psychological Services Coordinator to provide services in response to requests from resident and camp programs and/or as identified in NGBs’high performanceplans.
  • Adhere to HIPAA-compliant documentation and recordkeeping including recording and entering all athlete encounters and related data in the electronic medical records in a complete and timely manner.
  • Provide management of athlete psychological services in accordance with licensure, scope of practice, Code of Ethics, standards of care, and functions of individual professional licensure permitted by State law. Maintain continuous compliance with medical and legal requirements for the states of employment as well as any other states in which the psychological services provider supports the USOPC or National Governing Bodies at sporting events or other assigned activities.
  • Maintain compliance with IOC, USADA, SafeSport, and the Olympic & Paralympic Code to provide for maximum health and performance for each athlete.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Here are the skills and experience you'll need to be effective:

  • Ph.D/Psy.Din Clinical or Counseling Psychology or related field (preferred) ORmaster’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, with equivalent work experience
  • State Licensure as a mental health provider in applicable states of work
  • AASP Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) Certification
  • Current CPR certification
  • Certification in Anti-Doping training completed within 30 days of start date
  • 2+ years of experience providing psychology services to elite and diverse athlete populations
  • Electronic Medical Record experience
  • Knowledge of psychotherapy and clinical/counseling psychology
  • Knowledge ofmental performance/sport psychology
  • Knowledgeof exercise science, kinesiology, and motor skill development
  • Commitment to diversity and demonstrated competency in multicultural counseling skills
  • Knowledge of and adherence to professional, legal, ethical, and professional standards endorsed by licensing professional organization
  • Ability to conceptualize, diagnose problems, and implement appropriate treatment solutions
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and computer programs
  • Strong interpersonal skills, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse population including, but not limited to, athletes (both Olympic and Paralympic), coaches, administrative staff, physicians, volunteers, and other medical personnel
  • Continuously comply with local, state, and federal health and safety standards, rules, and regulations

Here's Some More Information You Need To Know

  • Hiring pay range $110,000 - $115,000 per year.
  • This Full-Time, Exempt position is intended to work 40 hours per week.
  • Bonus: This position will be eligible for the Annual Incentive Award Program, which has a 15% target. The USOPC may change or eliminate this program at any time at its sole discretion.
