The focus of this position is to conduct quality improvement visits to healthcare providers enrolled in the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program, training them in immunization best practices and working with them to increase vaccine coverage rates. Duties also include oversight of the local district office vaccine program, including vaccine ordering, management, and vaccine administration; leading office and community vaccination clinics for community members who have limited access to care; and working collaboratively with colleagues and community partners to identify immunization gaps and disparities. Environmental Factors Duties primarily performed in a standard office setting. Work may be performed in clinic settings and possibly client homes. Exposure to communicable diseases and other stressful situations may occur. Private means of transportation is required. May be required to work evenings, weekends and 12 hour shifts. Minimum Qualifications Associate's degree in nursing AND five (5) years or more of professional nursing experience INCLUDING three (3) or more years in public health or community health nursing*. OR Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) AND three (3) or more years in public health or community health nursing*. Possession of, or eligibility for, licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Vermont OR eligible to practice in the state of Vermont via a multi-state license. *Community Health Nursing is defined as school nursing, home health nursing, home visiting nurses and community nurse health educators. NOTE: Must maintain Vermont licensure or multi-state license as a Registered Nurse as a condition of employment. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
