About Fame Marketing
Fame Marketing and Trading LLC is a fast-growing U.S. e-commerce company that develops, sources, and sells a portfolio of consumer and specialty products across every major online marketplace. We operate our own branded storefronts alongside high-volume marketplace channels across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the European Union, and we manage a distributed inventory network spanning multiple fulfillment programs and third-party warehouses across these regions.
Our Purchasing team sits at the very start of that supply chain. It builds and manages the relationships with our manufacturing partners in China, Türkiye, and beyond — negotiating pricing and lead times, planning production against sales velocity, and driving every order end to end from proforma invoice through production, loading, and ocean freight. The team also works hand in hand with product development, turning product ideas into manufacturable specifications and making sure each item meets the technical, packaging, and certification requirements of the markets we sell into. Every unit that reaches a customer starts with a decision made here. As we scale our brands and channels, we are expanding this team.
About the Role
We are looking for a teammate who will take full ownership of the process end to end — from manufacturer coordination and order tracking to production planning and sea/air freight organization. You will be accountable for your own portfolio of orders and the KPIs that measure it (on-time production, landed cost, and order accuracy), and you are expected to spot problems early and solve them before they reach the customer. This role is the bridge between our suppliers and our product development team: you are expected to understand both the factory’s language and the market’s needs.
Responsibilities
- Manufacturer coordination: Managing daily communication with manufacturers and suppliers in China, Türkiye and other countries; handling pricing, lead time, capacity and sampling processes.
- Supplier sourcing: Identifying and qualifying new suppliers through Alibaba / 1688 and other sourcing platforms and methods (Global Sources, Made-in-China, trade fairs, sourcing agents, and direct factory outreach).
- Production planning: Building the production/order plan based on sales velocity and inventory levels; planning seasonal demand in advance.
- End-to-end order control: Tracking and reporting every step — from the proforma invoice (PI) stage to production start, production lead time follow-up and loading approval.
- Cost tracking: FOB / DDP cost analysis, monitoring freight and duty items, assessing the impact of price changes.
- Shipping and logistics organization: Arranging sea/air freight when needed, coordinating with forwarders and customs brokers, container planning and loading follow-up.
- Product development bridge: Ensuring coordination between the product development team and suppliers; mastering the technical details of our products (formulation, packaging, dimensions, MSDS/SDS and certification requirements).
- Ownership, KPIs & problem-solving: Taking full ownership of your order portfolio; tracking performance against clear KPIs (on-time production, landed cost, order accuracy) and resolving issues proactively before they escalate.
- Record keeping and reporting: Keeping order, payment and shipment records up to date on shared systems (Asana); contributing to departmental reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (International Trade, Logistics, Industrial Engineering or a related field is preferred).
- Minimum 4 years of experience in purchasing or logistics/foreign trade.
- E-commerce company experience (mandatory): Prior experience at an e-commerce company with a heavy Amazon/marketplace focus, with a clear understanding of how marketplace sales velocity, inventory, and fulfillment (FBA and similar) drive purchasing and production decisions.
- Good command of English (written and spoken), sufficient to work with overseas suppliers.
- Solid knowledge of import processes: proforma invoices, Incoterms (FOB/CIF/DDP), container loading logic, customs documentation.
- Advanced Excel and reporting/analytical skills: pivot tables, data filtering, building cost and analysis models, and turning data into clear, decision-ready reports.
- Detail-oriented and persistent working style, able to track many orders simultaneously.
- Able to plan your own work in a remote setup, stay self-managed, and report consistently.
- Flexibility to work with suppliers across different time zones.
