The Navigator establishes meaningful relationships with students through proactive communication, personalized academic coaching, NCLEX preparation, and ongoing professional mentorship. Working collaboratively with faculty, Academic Program Heads, Student Services, and School of Nursing leadership, the NSSN monitors student progression, identifies barriers to success, coordinates timely interventions, and develops individualized success plans that promote academic achievement and professional readiness. The NSSN serves as the primary point of continuity throughout the student's educational experience by providing scheduled and just-in-time support through both synchronous and asynchronous communication. This hybrid role requires flexibility to provide support virtually and on-site, recognizing that advising, faculty collaboration, student engagement activities, and program priorities require a variable Nursing Center presence throughout the academic year. What to expect in this role: Student Success Serve as the primary Nursing Student Success Navigator for assigned students from entry into the nursing program through graduation, NCLEX-RN examination, and transition into professional practice. Establish trusting, supportive, and professional relationships that foster student engagement, accountability, and success. Develop individualized student success plans based on academic performance, standardized assessment data, faculty recommendations, and student needs. Conduct scheduled advising appointments while providing additional outreach as needed. Coach students in study strategies, clinical judgment, professional behaviors, time management, resilience, and test-taking strategies. Encourage student accountability through regular follow-up, progress monitoring, and meaningful coaching conversations. Support graduates through completion of Purdue Global's NCLEX preparation plan until successful licensure. Academic Progression & Intervention Monitor student academic performance, engagement, standardized assessment outcomes, and progression benchmarks. Identify students demonstrating academic risk or barriers to progression and coordinate timely interventions. Collaborate with faculty and Academic Program Heads to develop individualized support strategies. Guide students in understanding progression requirements, academic expectations, and graduation milestones. Maintain accurate documentation of advising interactions, interventions, referrals, and outcomes. NCLEX Readiness & Professional Preparation Guide students through Purdue Global's comprehensive NCLEX readiness process beginning early in the curriculum. Monitor completion of assigned NCLEX preparation activities and individualized remediation plans. Utilize standardized assessment data and readiness indicators to support individualized coaching. Assist students in developing clinical judgment, decision-making, and testing strategies consistent with current NCLEX-RN standards. Continue advising graduates until successful completion of the NCLEX-RN examination. Provide expertise to the School of Nursing related to theoretical models used in the education of students developing clinical judgment and NCLEX preparedness Faculty & Leadership Collaboration Partner with nursing faculty to support student success across all nursing courses.
