About Netop
Netop builds secure remote access solutions trusted by organizations in retail, finance, healthcare, industrial operations, and critical infrastructure. With a
security-first architecture and strong alignment to
Zero Trust principles, our systems run across cloud and on-prem environments and must meet high standards of reliability, compliance, and operational safety.
We operate a modern cloud SaaS platform (Netop Portal) and a mature on-premise product line (Netop Remote Control), running on Windows, Linux, and macOS — often within environments that cannot go offline. Quality, stability, and automation are core to everything we do.
Job Information
- Team: QA — supporting Portal & On-Prem Engineering
- Level: L3 – Owning (full L3, expected to hit the ground running)
- Reports to: QA Lead
- Location: Bucharest, Romania / Remote
- Type: Full-time
Your Role
We’re hiring a
QA Engineer (L3) to ensure the quality and reliability of our software across
both product lines — the
Portal (cloud SaaS) and
On-Prem (cross-platform desktop) suite. You’ll design, execute, and
automate test cases, working closely with developers, the QA Lead, and product managers to drive quality across Windows, Linux, and macOS environments, as well as web-based flows.
This is a
full L3 position — we expect you to hit the ground running, owning test areas and automation coverage from day one and taking on increasingly complex subsystems and quality ownership as you ramp. You’ll operate as a fully autonomous L3 contributor from early on.
We don’t use “years of experience” as a proxy for skill — we evaluate based on your QA fundamentals, your automation mindset, your ability to reason methodically about complex multi-platform systems, and your readiness to own quality outcomes.
Soft Skills
- Strong ownership mindset; able to design and improve testing approaches, not just execute test cases
- Ability to understand product and technical specifications and translate them into effective test strategies
- Enjoy solving technical problems and comparing solutions against real requirements
- Methodical, detail-oriented, and disciplined about reproducibility
- Self-driven, capable of managing tasks independently and following through on commitments
- Clear written and verbal communication; collaborative mindset across Engineering, QA, and Product
- Desire to continuously improve processes, tooling, and engineering discipline
Required
Hard Skills
- QA automation is a core requirement — proven ability to write, maintain, and scale automated test suites
- Solid scripting or programming ability (Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar)
- Hands-on experience with automation frameworks across both web and desktop applications
- Web: Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar
- Desktop: native app testing on Windows and/or Linux (macOS a plus)
- Experience testing multi-platform software (Windows, Linux, macOS)
- Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
- Experience designing, executing, and maintaining functional, regression, and exploratory tests
- Ability to analyze logs, configurations, and system behavior to identify and reproduce root causes
- Comfortable collaborating with developers throughout feature design, implementation, and release
Nice to Have
- Experience with CI/CD test integration and running automated tests in pipelines
- Experience testing C++ or native desktop applications (cross-platform)
- Familiarity with both SaaS and on-premise product testing
- Knowledge of performance, load, or security testing
- Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr)
- Experience building internal QA tools, test harnesses, simulators, or mocks
- Understanding of network protocols, client-server architectures, or remote desktop technologies
- Experience contributing to QA process improvement
Responsibilities
