QA Engineer(Intern) About the Role You will own quality across everything we ship — from our web dashboard and billing APIs to our public AI speech endpoints. This is not a role where quality is an afterthought. You will be embedded in the engineering process, building the test infrastructure that ensures nothing breaks before it reaches our customers. If you are someone who thinks in edge cases, automates everything and takes pride in shipping with confidence — this role is for you. What You Will Do Own the end-to-end testing strategy across our web app, dashboard APIs and public AI APIs Build and maintain automated test suites — E2E, API, contract and integration testing Test real-time streaming features including WebSockets, audio streaming and live translation for latency, accuracy and reliability Run performance and stress testing while helping define SLAs for AI endpoints Integrate quality gates into CI/CD so nothing merges without passing tests Perform exploratory and regression testing with clear, reproducible bug reports Validate multilingual and localisation workflows Collaborate closely with engineering on test environments, data and release readiness What You Actually Are You catch edge cases before users do You automate first and test manually only when necessary You write bug reports that developers actually understand and can act on You treat flaky tests as technical debt worth fixing You take ownership of release readiness — not just finding bugs Non-Negotiables Strong hands-on experience with Playwright or Cypress Experience with API testing — Postman, REST and contract testing Comfortable working in TypeScript and JavaScript codebases Solid understanding of REST APIs, WebSockets, SQL and CI/CD pipelines Strong debugging skills and an automation-first mindset Strong Plus Experience testing AI, ML or speech products — ASR, TTS or translation Performance testing tools — k6, Artillery or JMeter Familiarity with Docker, PostgreSQL, Redis, Grafana or OpenTelemetry Experience with Next.js or React testing Accessibility testing experience Who Will Thrive Here Engineers who see quality as a first-class concern, not a final step Detail-oriented builders who are not satisfied until edge cases are covered People who can balance thoroughness with the pace of a fast-moving startup Anyone who finds a bug in production and takes it personally What You'll Get Ownership of quality across a speech AI platform used by enterprise clients Direct collaboration with the founding engineering team Remote-first flexibility A strong pathway into senior QA or SDET roles About VALSEA We're building the speech intelligence layer for Southeast Asia — turning real-world, accented, code-switched speech into structured, usable outputs for businesses.
