Salary Range: $27.68 To $29.44 Hourly Open Door Group (ODG), a mission-driven non-profit organization serving communities in Alberta and BC, is looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team in Alberta ! Wage: $27.68 to $29.44 per hour Status: Full-Time, Permanent Hours of Work: 36 hours per week Location: This position will be remote, with a primary work location of a home office and a secondary work location from the Open Door Group office in the successful candidate's community. Preference will be given to candidates located in Edmonton or Calgary to support collaboration with internal teams and organizational initiatives. About the Role The Quality Assurance Specialist plays a key role in ensuring service excellence, contractual compliance, accreditation standards, and data security across Open Door Group. This position reviews client service delivery, financial transactions, and documentation practices to ensure alignment with ODG service standards, funder policies, and privacy and information security obligations. The role conducts regular and targeted quality reviews, validates financial orders, identifies compliance issues, and provides clear recommendations for corrective action. The Quality Assurance Specialist also tracks trends and recurring issues, prepares reports on audit findings and risks, and works collaboratively with Finance, Service Delivery, and Business Enablement to support timely resolution and continuous improvement. This position is well suited to someone who is highly analytical and detail-oriented, communicates feedback clearly and professionally, and can balance independent review work with cross-functional collaboration. The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of quality assurance, compliance, risk management, privacy, and information security principles, along with strong organizational and documentation skills. Education and Experience Post-secondary certificate (one-year) in business administration, social services, quality assurance, auditing, data analytics, or a related field Minimum two years of recent, related experience in quality assurance, compliance monitoring, auditing, or a related role, preferably within government-funded programs, social services, or non-profit sectors An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered Must maintain a satisfactory criminal record Knowledge and Skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing service documentation, financial transactions, and compliance evidence Solid understanding of quality assurance methodologies, risk management, compliance frameworks, and information security principles Analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify issues, patterns, and trends and translate findings into practical recommendations Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide clear, constructive, and professional feedback Strong organizational, time management, prioritization, and documentation skills, with the ability to manage varied workloads and meet deadlines Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams Ability to take initiative, solve problems, adapt to change, and respond to changing funder requirements, accreditation standards, and regulatory environments Commitment to continuous improvement, learning, innovation, integrity, accountability, respect, client confidentiality, and data security Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word; experience with case management or CRM systems is considered an asset Ability to effectively use virtual platforms, including Zoom and Microsoft Teams Work Environment and Schedule Requirements This is a remote position based primarily from a home office, with secondary access to an Open Door Group office in the successful candidate's community.
