This is an exciting, part-time (0.4FTE) opportunity for an experienced quality, risk and compliance professional to make a meaningful impact by strengthening quality and compliance across our organisation and ensuring the delivery of high-quality essential services to some of Australia's most geographically remote and culturally diverse communities. The role coordinates governance, risk, compliance, incident management, and reporting systems to ensure organisational obligations are met in a timely, consistent, and sustainable way. Working closely with the CEO and Executive Management Team (EMT), the position brings together information, monitors follow-through, and provides clear visibility of organisational risk, compliance, and performance. Operating under broad direction, the role requires sound judgement, independent prioritisation, and the ability to identify and escalate risks, while supporting practical, organisation-wide improvement. Darwin is the preferred location for this role, however, we welcome applications from suitable candidates across the Northern Territory, Queensland, and New South Wales who are able to work remotely. Special Provisions: Willingness to travel to remote communities (by light aircraft or 4WD) Ability to obtain and maintain NDIS Worker Screening clearance Willingness to adhere to Government mandated vaccination policies and provide proof of compliance Ability to obtain and maintain an NT class C manual drivers’ license Key Responsibilities: Governance, Risk, Compliance and Incident Management Coordinate and maintain the Strategic Risk Register, ensuring timely EMT input, accurate documentation, and alignment with organisational priorities Monitor the compliance schedule and coordinate related activities, including internal audits, IR reviews, and NDIS audit readiness Coordinate incident management processes, ensuring timely logging, appropriate review, and clear allocation of responsibility for investigation and follow-up Monitor and drive continuous quality improvement (CQI) actions, prompting follow-through and supporting timely closure Provide clear, respectful follow-up and guidance, reinforcing shared responsibility while maintaining strong working relationships Collate, analyse, and synthesise incident, risk, and CQI data for EMT and Board reporting, identifying trends, systemic issues, and risks Integrate incident and CQI insights into the Strategic Risk Register and inform and facilitate development of targeted risk assessments and control improvements Maintain clear oversight of organisational risk, incident, and compliance status, escalating issues and supporting timely decision-making under broad direction Reporting, Data and Funding Compliance Act as a central coordination point to ensure governance, compliance, and reporting activities are completed on time and to a high standard Coordinate grant reporting processes, including collating input, monitoring due dates, and ensuring accurate and timely submissions Coordinate Strategic Plan KPI reporting to the Board, including data collation, formatting, and identifying trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement Work collaboratively with managers and subject matter experts to gather input, clarify expectations, and support accountability Monitor compliance with funding agreement obligations and proactively identify and escalate risks Support the collation and organisation of data to enable effective analysis, reporting, and evidence-based decision-making Strengthen consistency and usability of reporting systems and processes across the organisation Systems, Documents and Quality Framework Manage the document management system, including coordination of policy and procedure reviews and updates Ensure controlled documents remain current, accessible, and aligned with regulatory and organisational requirements Support implementation and embedding of the Quality Management Framework across teams in a practical, sustainable way Selection Criteria: Essential Demonstrated experience in governance, risk, compliance, quality, or a similar coordination role within a complex or regulated environment Demonstrated ability to coordinate incident management and continuous improvement processes within a regulated environment Proven ability to coordinate organisation-wide processes involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities Strong analytical capability, including the ability to collate, interpret, and present data to inform decision-making Experience supporting reporting to senior leadership or Board, including preparing clear, accurate, and fit-for-purpose outputs High level organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines with reliability and consistency Demonstrated ability to work independently under broad direction, exercising sound judgement and appropriate escalation Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and the ability to engage respectfully across diverse teams High level integrity, discretion, and professionalism Commitment to person and family-centred practice and working within the MJD Foundation ‘Our Way’ approach Desirable Experience in the community services or not-for-profit sector Understanding of NDIS Practice Standards, incident management, and audit requirements Qualifications in governance, business, quality, or a related field Experience supporting continuous improvement systems or quality frameworks
