What you’ll do
You will lead and support research projects exploring the factors that influence children and young people's mental health and wellbeing, using large-scale datasets, statistical analysis and evidence-based research methods. You'll work closely with researchers, schools and other partners to generate insights, evaluate outcomes and share findings that help improve practice, services and policy.
What you’ll bring
We are seeking a dedicated researcher with a PhD or relevant postgraduate qualification alongside experience of independently leading research projects.
Essential skills and experience:
- Advanced statistical analysis using R, STATA, or similar software.
- Experience managing and analysing large-scale longitudinal datasets.
- Experience producing research reports, publications and evidence summaries.
- Confidence in project management, research design and data collection.
- Advanced IT and data management skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
Key details
Hours: full-time (35 hours per week): usual working hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00. Flexible working is possible.
Salary: £40,662 FTE per annum, plus 6% contributory pension scheme.
Location: hybrid working (a mixture of onsite and home/remote working). Staff are working onsite for at least 20% of their working hours at our London office (4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH) / our Northern Hub (Colony, 3.07 Jactin House, 24 Hood Street, Ancoats Urban Village, Manchester M4 6WX).
Contract type: fixed-term (maternity cover November 2026 to November 2027).
