Role Description:
The Investment Specialist in Spain will support the evaluation, structuring, and execution of distressed land investment opportunities for the Malaga fund. This part-time remote role involves sourcing potential deals, analyzing market data, and assessing financial viability of urban plots and development projects. The specialist will help build financial models, prepare investment memos and presentations, and contribute to risk assessments and scenario analyses. Additional responsibilities include coordinating with local partners, monitoring project performance, and staying informed about Spanish real estate and regulatory developments. The role requires proactive communication with the broader QS team and disciplined documentation of investment activities.
Qualifications:
Strong financial analysis and investment evaluation skills, including experience with cash flow modeling, ROI calculations, and risk assessment.
Background in real estate, urban development, or related fields, with exposure to land acquisition, project feasibility studies, or development financing.
Knowledge of the Spanish property market, particularly Malaga or broader Andalusia, and familiarity with local regulatory and legal frameworks is highly beneficial.
Ability to conduct market and economic research, synthesize data into clear insights, and prepare concise investment reports and presentations.
Proficiency with spreadsheets and presentation tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint) and comfort working with financial and project management software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish language skills are a strong advantage.
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote, part-time setting, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Business, or a related discipline; advanced qualifications are a plus.
