ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS It is the responsibility of the Recovery Collection Specialist to take ownership of all tasks and challenges that they encounter in the operation of the assigned position. · Knowledge of options available to the bank with regard to debt collection. These include voluntary payment arrangements, various legal actions through courts and attorneys, and third-party collection companies. · Perform the following duties related to Loan Recovery: o Attempts to contact with customers who have charged off accounts with the bank. o Negotiate repayment terms and processes transactions, as needed. o Attend court hearings or arbitration hearings. o Produce and maintain various reports and statistics, as needed. o Utilizes various data products and the internet to locate customers o Manages legal assignments with the advice of the bank's attorneys. o Performs asset searches for the purpose of supporting legal action. o Be a source of information for all internal bank customers regarding charged off accounts. · Complete transactions, minimizing operational errors and maintaining a proper workflow. · Ensure compliance of the branch’s security and audit procedures. · Assures that Recovery records, reports and other correspondence resulting from customer contact attempts and transactions are correctly documented. · Serve customers quickly, accurately, efficiently and confidentially. · Manage potentially adversarial telephone conversations by remaining professional and courteous. · Presents a neat and professional personal appearance, in accordance with bank policy. · Ensures compliance with all bank policies and procedures as well as state, federal, and regulatory requirements. · Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. COMPETENCIES · Strong Data Acquisition and Management skills · General banking knowledge · Strong negotiation and mediation skills Qualifications, Education, and Certification Requirements · Education : High School Diploma, College Preferred · Experience : Previous loan collections, lending or credit administration experience TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/CLASSES Successful completion of probationary period. Required annual compliance training. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Must be able to stand and/or sit for long periods of time. Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, and reports. WORK ENVIRONMENT This is a hybrid position utilizing both a private office or cubicle located in one of our banking centers and a telecommuting option. Employee must have a secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions. They must also have a reliable private internet connection that is not supplied by use of cellular data (hot spot). Cable or fiber connections are preferred. Requirements are subject to change, as new systems and technology is delivered. Travel may be required to attend departmental meetings or court hearings as needed. In accordance with Colorado and Virginia law: Pay for this position is anticipated to be between $59,959.00 - $95,780.00 , actual offers to be determined based on applicant’s skills, experience and education.
