Role Description This is a full-time remote role for Recruiting Medical Interpreters (Remote Medical Interpreters) specializing in Spanish-English OPI (Over-the-Phone Interpreting) and VRI (Video Remote Interpreting). The role involves accurately interpreting medical information between Spanish and English in real time, ensuring clarity, neutrality, and cultural sensitivity during patient-provider interactions. Daily responsibilities include managing scheduled and on-demand calls, adhering to medical and privacy protocols, and maintaining detailed and accurate session records. The interpreter will collaborate with healthcare professionals, follow company guidelines and quality standards, and participate in ongoing training through the web-based platform. Consistent availability, professional conduct, and reliable connectivity are essential, as services are often provided across different time zones and varying shifts.
Qualifications

• Strong Medical Interpretation and Interpreting skills, with the ability to convey information accurately and impartially between Spanish and English.
• Solid understanding of Medical Terminology in both languages, particularly in clinical, hospital, and emergency care settings.
• Experience or training in Simultaneous Interpretation for fast-paced medical encounters, including OPI and VRI environments.
• Competence in Translation of brief medical documents or notes when required, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
• Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English, with excellent listening, speaking, and comprehension abilities.
• Knowledge of healthcare privacy and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA) and commitment to ethical interpreting practices.
• Reliable high-speed internet connection, suitable remote working environment, and comfort using cloud-based and video platforms.
• Prior experience as a medical interpreter or completion of a recognized interpreter training program is highly desirable.
• Strong interpersonal skills, cultural competence, and ability to remain calm and professional in sensitive or urgent situations.
