Role Summary

This role involves developing and writing authentic content for online communities, Reddit, and Quora to enhance clients' online presence. The strategist will focus on creating content that genuinely integrates into communities, avoiding overt promotion, with a dedicated team handling the technical aspects of posting.

Key Responsibilities

• Research clients' industries to identify niche online communities worth engaging with.
• Select and shape communities that function as real places, not branded pages.
• Author community post plans, including posts and comment threads.
• Write in the voice of a genuine community member, often without brand mentions.
• Draft ongoing comments and replies for the publishing team.
• Write branded mentions for relevant discussion threads that read like real customer recommendations.
• Draft factual responses to negative client posts based on provided specifics.
• Develop questions prospective customers ask on platforms like Quora.
• Write genuinely useful answers on Quora that credibly surface the client without being advertisements.

Required Qualifications

• Proven ability to write authentically in various voices and registers.
• Extensive, long-term experience using Reddit, understanding community dynamics, what gets downvoted, and what constitutes genuine engagement.
• Analytical skills to connect businesses with relevant online communities, topics, and audiences.
• Comfort using AI tools as a starting point, with the judgment to overrule models.
• Discipline regarding client constraints: tone, proof points, and prohibited statements.
• Organizational skills to maintain content plans ahead of the publishing schedule.

Preferred Skills

• Background in community management, forum moderation, copywriting, or journalism.
• Experience ghostwriting or writing in another person's voice at volume.
