The role The Regional Commercial Manager provides regional leadership for commercial strategies and client relationships within a specific region, overseeing multiple projects and maximising profitable growth. The role focuses on the strategic development and adaptation of global commercial strategies, collaborates closely with local client representatives and internal teams to align regional objectives with overall organizational goals. It oversees regional commercial teams, coordinating contract integrations alongside global accounts and business development and managing commercial reporting. The main responsibilities in a non-exhaustive manner of this ambitious role will be: Team Leadership & Management Lead, develop, and mentor local regional commercial teams (when applicable). Establish team priorities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, commercial targets, and company growth strategy. Oversee team performance using KPIs and targets, ensuring adherence to internal processes and continuous improvement. Guide team members in strategic negotiations, proposal development, and stakeholder engagements, fostering their professional growth. Develop and implement tools to optimize tracking of contractual commitments and team efficiency. Collaborate closely with the different teams at PUR (operations, technical, legal, finance...) to translate Global Commercial strategies and deliver contractual obligations Local Project Narratives & Commercial Strategies Develop and execute tailored commercial strategies to meet regional market demands and maximize client satisfaction. Tailor global strategies to regional context and opportunities. Ensure alignment with business objectives across the region. Establish clear project narratives that communicate the value and impact of PUR’s offerings to local clients and stakeholders. Cultivate and nurture trust-based relationships with global clients, positioning PUR as a strategic partner within the regions. Analyse and aggregate client insights to inform and shape PUR's global strategic direction. Integrate Multiple Contracts Oversee the integration of multiple contracts into cohesive, aligned project landscapes within the region. Ensure seamless coordination between different contractual obligations and deliverables across projects. Resolve any conflicts or discrepancies that arise during integration to maintain project cohesion and profitability Lead and drive regional upsell and support cross-sell initiatives within global accounts Manage Local Client Relationships Act as the primary liaison between PUR and local clients, building and maintaining strong relationships with local client representatives and business partners. Collaborate closely with the account management team for a unified approach to client interactions to enhance client satisfaction and loyalty. Lead regular meetings with local client representatives and stakeholders to coordinate new supply chain initiatives, review project progress, address issues, and align on future goals. Integrate local clients in global project opportunities. Reporting & Performance Tracking Oversee commercial reporting from all represented projects within the region ensuring rigorous tracking of execution against contractual obligations and timely deliverables. Ensure accuracy and alignment with financial targets. Provide regular reports on regional project performance, profitability, and any risks or opportunities. Develop and maintain systems to track and report commercial metrics. Ensure transparency and accountability across projects. Sector-Specific Commercial Strategy Development Collaborate with Business Development to develop and implement region-specific commercial strategies to drive market penetration and revenue growth. Leverage market insights policy, regulation, and competitive analysis in alignment with the BD team Guide regional teams in adapting PUR’s offerings to meet local client needs effectively. Represent PUR in regional industry associations, forums, and initiatives in collaboration with Operations team and Product team Conflict Resolution & Problem Solving Proactively manage conflicts and issues within local client relationships to mitigate escalation and ensure positive outcomes. Maintain strong client relationships. Use problem-solving skills to address disputes and build trust. Foster positive outcomes for all parties involved. Anticipate potential issues and implement strategies to mitigate risks. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) : Successful execution of local commercial strategies, leading to increased profitability and client satisfaction. Strong relationship management with local client representatives, resulting in sustained client partnerships. Effective integration of multiple contracts into cohesive project landscapes Resolve client conflicts to positive outcomes enhancing long-term partnerships and client satisfaction. Accurate and timely commercial reporting, aligned with financial targets Manage opportunities within CRM/NetSuite We are looking for a candidate with: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Sustainability, or a related field. 8+ years of experience in Key Account Management, Business Development, or Commercial Management, with responsibility for strategic client relationships and complex stakeholder environments. Proven track record of managing strategic accounts, leading commercial negotiations, and delivering revenue growth. Experience managing complex, multi-country client portfolios within a matrix organisation, collaborating effectively across functions, regions, and senior leadership teams. Strong communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills , with the credibility and executive presence to build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, navigate sensitive discussions, and foster long-term partnerships. Ability to influence, coach, and support regional teams , while partnering effectively with Country Managers, Regional Managers, and other key internal stakeholders to drive client success. Knowledge of coffee and cocoa value chains, sustainability programmes, and key industry players . Experience in the coffee sector is strongly preferred, with experience in cocoa or similar agricultural commodities considered an advantage.
