CAREERS: The Next Generation is a unique, non-profit organization raising youth awareness of career options and helping students earn while they learn through internship. We partner with government, educators, communities, industry, parents and students to introduce youth to rewarding careers and develop the skilled workers of the future. About the role: Reporting to the Director, Operations, the Regional Manager is responsible for implementing the organization’s strategic goals, mission, vision and values into operational plans, and for managing the day-to-day regional operations. What You'll Need to Succeed To succeed as a Regional Manager, you'll need strong leadership skills to inspire and develop teams, and excellent communication abilities to interact effectively with stakeholders. Operational expertise in process improvement, budget management, and resource allocation is crucial, alongside deep industry knowledge and familiarity with regulatory compliance. You must be adaptable and skilled in problem-solving, with technological proficiency in data analysis and CRM systems. Additionally, cultural awareness and a strong customer focus are essential, as is a visionary approach to driving regional success. These combined skills and attributes will position you for success in this role. Roles and Responsibilities Provide leadership, oversight and strategic direction to regional operations including implementation of programs, services, policies and guidelines. Take a proactive approach to developing and maintaining strong and productive relationships within CAREERS as well as with external stakeholders and strategic partners. Develop and oversee programs and ensure organizational goals are met or exceeded. Participate in the preparation and administration of the approved annual budget. Manage human resources for the region. Provide input and consultation to the Director, Operations on strategic and operational matters. Monitor the quality and impact of programs in the region. Strategic Leadership Work in collaboration with the Director, Operations to analyze and provide data and updates on provincial and regional initiatives. This includes identifying organizational risk and recommending preventative measures and strategies. Demonstrate leadership and innovation in the development, continuous improvement and monitoring of the organization’s strategic goals and annual targets. Participate in the development of annual budgets, resources, and targets for provincial and regional goals. Champion community mobilization, act as a catalyst and advocate to promote the goals and vision of CAREERS provincially and in regional communities. Support internal stakeholder needs such as data, reporting, speakers/ambassadors, investor obligations, etc. Team Leadership Proactively work with the Director, Operations and other Regional Managers to establish regional and provincial priorities that align with organizational strategies. Participate in the continuous research, development, and implementation of effective organizational procedures, processes, strategies, and tools that strengthen and enhance the organization’s brand, mission and results. Collaborate with the Director of Operations and HR to manage all aspects of human resources for the regional team including recruitment, performance management, development and training. Collaborate with other Regional Managers to determine and monitor Operational goals and be accountable to Strategic Plan program targets in Awareness, Exploration, Experience, and Indigenous. Institute a project management approach to new or large projects. Lead, mentor and motivate regional Operations team members by providing support and expertise, identifying training opportunities, managing performance, recruiting new team members, and monitoring targets and deadlines. Encourage a positive workplace to build a strong, cohesive team that maximizes retention and team contribution. Operations Leadership Monitor, analyze and report to the Director, Operations on Operations budget, targets, procedures, processes, and programs. Expand and build strategic partnerships provincially and regionally with schools, students, and employers. Promote collaboration, capitalize on opportunities, and leverage networks. Present a coherent and compelling message to diverse audiences (executives, parents, schools, students, employers). Plan, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate activities assigned to the Operations team. Meet regularly with team members to develop work plans and coordinate individual and team priorities. Be available to support their work, resolve problems, identify training and resources, and motivate them to be successful. Continual learning to ensure current with ever-changing technology and processes to be able to train team members (CRM, SharePoint, Office365). Ability to research and implement programs and processes quickly that align with strategic plans and targets (Virtual Showcases, School Bulletin, etc.). Skills and Competencies Excellent leadership qualities which include the ability to be inclusive, collaborative, and work effectively with multiple stakeholders including youth, parents, schools, educators, employers, and other partners. Demonstrated ability to develop and grow a team and build a positive work environment that is both challenging and engaging for team members. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a variety of settings. Responsible self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight and meet targets. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Proven ability to keep all information and documentation strictly confidential when required Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with others. Strong customer service skills as well as a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. Sound ethical approach to decision making and relationship building. Able to demonstrate proficiency in the CAREERS competencies of collaboration, communication, professionalism, entrepreneurial orientation, resourcefulness, interpersonal relationships and influencing. Qualifications Experience as a leader in a non-profit, community development, social development, or other related role. Related fields may include but are not limited to trades occupations; business and working with youth. Post- secondary education is required (apprenticeship, college, or university). Excellent technical skills in Office 365 and databases. A valid Alberta driver’s license and an incident free criminal record and child welfare checks required.
