Regulatory Advisor

We are a RegTech consulting firm specialising in market conduct for wholesale energy markets (Power, Gas, LNG). Our platform addresses the rigorous demands of UK MAR and REMIT II by reasoning across multiple venues and products to detect complex manipulation surpassing traditional, isolated rule-based tools. Led by a founding team with decades of surveillance experience backed by PhD-level ML pioneers and academia, we are currently collaborating with design partners across the EU to build our platform.

The Mission

REMIT II has fundamentally raised the compliance ceiling in Europe. While obligations for those professionally arranging or executing transactions (PPATs) expand through early 2026, many firms lack the resources to meet these significant mandates. Furthermore, as the grid shifts toward renewables, we are developing sophisticated tools to detect evolving behaviours that traditional systems miss and solving this market's problem.

The Role: Regulatory Advisor

This is a fractional, "hands-in" advisory role for a specialist who enjoys debating regulatory edge cases and serving as the product’s "regulatory conscience".

Key Responsibilities:

• Validate detection logic against MAR and REMIT II to identify gaps.
• Translate evolving guidance from ACER, Ofgem, and the FCA into actionable product standards.
• Align engineering and product teams with regulatory expectations.
• Ensure platform outputs and documentation provide evidence that withstands regulatory scrutiny.
• Leverage your professional network to open doors with key industry stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Deep background in regulatory compliance, having served within a regulator (e.g., ACER, Ofgem, FCA) or led surveillance at an energy trading firm, bank, or broker.
• Ability to interpret complex market behaviour and communicate findings to technical teams. Legal qualifications in REMIT/MAR are highly valued.
• Comfortable in a remote-first, collaborative environment.
• Fluency in English is required. Additional European languages are an advantage.

Commitment & Equity:

• Type: Fractional, Equity-only (aligned with an early advisory position). We structured this intentionally as an equity-based role to ensure our advisors have a meaningful stake in the platform we are building together.
• Hours: A few hours per month, with increased involvement for specific milestones.
• Vesting: 2-year schedule with a cliff to ensure long-term alignment with our growth projections.
