We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for US-qualified attorneys with experience in pro bono programmes, civil legal services, access-to-justice initiatives, and review of complex legal analyses. This role supports an AI research initiative focused on improving legal reasoning across housing, family, consumer, foreclosure, debt, and other civil legal matters. Selected professionals will evaluate AI-generated analyses, assess procedural guidance, identify legal inaccuracies, and provide structured feedback grounded in practical civil legal-services experience. Key Responsibilities Civil Legal Analysis Review Review AI-generated legal analyses involving common civil legal-services matters Assess issue identification, legal reasoning, procedural guidance, and practical recommendations Identify incorrect legal conclusions, unsupported assumptions, and omitted considerations Evaluate whether responses reflect the realities faced by self-represented and low-income litigants Access-to-Justice Evaluation Assess legal content involving barriers to representation, court access, affordability, and procedural fairness Identify situations requiring referrals to legal aid, emergency services, court resources, or qualified counsel Evaluate whether proposed guidance is clear, practical, and accessible to non-lawyers Consider how jurisdiction, income eligibility, deadlines, and local procedures may affect available options Multi-Area Civil Practice Review Evaluate scenarios involving housing, eviction, family law, consumer protection, foreclosure, and debt Review procedural guidance relating to filings, hearings, notices, deadlines, and available remedies Identify ethical, practical, and legal risks within proposed responses Apply broad civil-practice judgment across matters involving vulnerable individuals and communities Structured Feedback & Quality Standards Deliver clear written evaluations explaining the strengths and weaknesses of each analysis Compare alternative responses and determine which demonstrates stronger legal reasoning Apply consistent review standards across complex and varied civil legal scenarios Collaborate with legal and research specialists to improve evaluation criteria and reference materials Ideal Profile Strong candidates may have: Active admission to practise law in at least one US jurisdiction Professional experience managing, coordinating, or participating in pro bono legal initiatives Strong background in civil legal practice or legal-services work Experience evaluating legal reasoning, procedural guidance, and client-facing legal information Broad familiarity with housing, family, consumer, foreclosure, debt, or related civil matters Excellent legal writing, analytical judgment, and attention to detail Ability to provide structured and practical written feedback Comfort working independently within a remote evaluation environment Educational Background A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school is required Active US bar admission is required Additional education or training in public-interest law, civil procedure, legal aid, or access-to-justice policy may be valuable Continuing legal education covering housing, family, consumer, or poverty law may strengthen an application Nice to Have Experience serving as Pro Bono Counsel, Pro Bono Partner, legal-services attorney, or public-interest lawyer Background coordinating legal clinics, volunteer attorneys, or community legal programmes Expertise spanning multiple civil legal-practice areas Experience supervising junior lawyers, law students, or pro bono teams Familiarity with court self-help resources, limited-scope representation, or legal-aid referral systems Experience with legal technology, AI-assisted legal research, or structured legal evaluation Previous involvement in rubric development, quality assurance, or legal-content review Why This Opportunity Apply broad civil legal expertise to meaningful AI research Help improve legal reasoning across access-to-justice and civil legal-services scenarios Influence the quality and practical usefulness of AI-generated legal information Work on varied matters involving housing, family, consumer, foreclosure, and debt Participate in flexible remote work with competitive hourly compensation Contract Details Independent contractor role Fully remote with flexible scheduling Competitive compensation of up to $165 per hour depending on expertise and project scope Active US bar admission and a Juris Doctor degree are required Weekly payments via Stripe or Wise Work may include legal analysis review, procedural assessment, structured feedback, and quality calibration Projects may be extended, shortened, or adjusted depending on scope and performance Work will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution About the Platform This opportunity is available through 24-MAG LLC.
