Key Responsibilities Accounting Workflow Research Complete an approximately 30-minute written professional intake Describe your current or recent accounting responsibilities and day-to-day workflows Explain how your time is typically divided across core activities Identify the processes and decision points most important to your role Provide practical examples that reflect how accounting work is performed in real professional environments Domain & Specialisation Mapping Explain how experienced practitioners distinguish different areas of accounting in practice Describe meaningful specialisations within audit, tax, financial reporting, corporate accounting, advisory, and related functions Highlight differences between formal descriptions of accounting work and actual professional workflows Identify areas requiring particularly strong professional judgement or specialist expertise Tools, Processes & Professional Judgement Describe the systems, tools, documents, and data used within your accounting workflows Explain how accountants investigate issues, validate information, and reach conclusions Identify important review, escalation, approval, and documentation processes Surface workflow details that may be difficult for non-accountants to identify from public or textbook sources Provide specific examples where practical experience materially affects accounting decisions Future AI Accounting Engagements Contribute insights that help define future accounting-focused AI research projects Help identify realistic task categories for audit reasoning, reporting, tax, and GAAP/IFRS work Inform the development of projects that reflect authentic professional accounting practice Support better matching between accounting professionals and upcoming specialised workstreams Ideal Profile Practising or recently practising accountant Professional experience in public accounting, audit, tax, corporate accounting, financial reporting, finance, or advisory Strong understanding of real-world accounting workflows and professional decision-making CPA, Chartered Accountant, or comparable professional accounting qualification is preferred Experienced professionals without a formal accounting credential may also be considered where they demonstrate substantial domain expertise Ability to describe technical workflows and professional judgement in clear written English Comfortable providing detailed and specific responses about the mechanics of accounting work Engagement Details Part-time independent contractor opportunity Fully remote Initial written intake requires approximately 30 minutes Flexible participation Typical compensation for subsequent accounting engagements: $70–$110/hour , depending on project scope and seniority Strong intake responses may support matching to relevant upcoming accounting projects Future engagements may cover audit, tax, financial reporting, GAAP/IFRS analysis, and adjacent accounting workstreams Project scope, duration, and availability may vary according to research needs Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party H1-B and STEM OPT support is unavailable for applicable engagements About the Platform This opportunity is available through 24-MAG LLC.
