The Initiative Mercor is partnering with frontier AI labs to map out and train AI models on the precise, complex administrative workflows of the US healthcare system. We need your hands-on expertise to help us understand the exact steps taken in the real tools you use every day—from getting patients covered and securing authorizations to moving claims through to payment.

💰 Compensation & Structure

🔹 Rate: $40 - $50 USD per hour.

🔹 Format: 100% Remote, independent contractor role. Work strictly on your own schedule.

🔹 Payments: Processed weekly via Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.

🎯 Core Workflows (You should actively own one or more)

• Patient Access & Front-End: Registration, scheduling, eligibility verification, intake, and referral management.
• Prior Authorizations: Initiating, submitting, and tracking authorizations through payer portals.
• Claims & Revenue Cycle (RCM): Claim submission, denials/appeals, A/R follow-up, and rejection resolution.
• Remittance & Payment: ERA posting, and reconciliation against clinical charges.
• Payer Operations & HIM: Provider enrollment, credentialing, medical records administration, and day-to-day practice operations.

✅ Strict Eligibility Requirements

✔️ Operational Location: Must be currently based in the United States 🇺🇸.

✔️ Current Status: Must be currently working in a healthcare administrative/back-office role. (Note: We are not looking for medical coding or clinical care roles).

✔️ Experience: 3+ years of daily, hands-on experience in healthcare administration (e.g., Practice Manager, RCM Analyst, Billing Coordinator, Prior Auth Specialist).

✔️ System Mastery: Direct, hands-on experience with payer portals (Availity, Optum/Change Healthcare, Waystar, Office Ally, UHC Link, BCBS) or EHR/Practice Management platforms.

✔️ Contractual Restrictions: We are unable to support H1-B or STEM OPT candidates at this time.
