This role supports current and upcoming remote consulting opportunities focused on AI-assisted payment posting evaluation, remittance reconciliation review, revenue cycle workflow assessment, and high-quality project execution. Selected professionals will apply payment operations expertise to evaluate AI-generated posting outputs, review reconciliation reports, identify payment discrepancies, and provide structured feedback based on detailed project criteria.

Payment Posting & Remittance Review
Review payment posting workflows involving electronic remittance advice, ERA/835 processing, manual EOB posting, and payer remittance interpretation
Evaluate AI-generated payment posting outputs, matching recommendations, and remittance-related reports for accuracy and completeness
Assess payment posting logic across multiple payers, payment types, adjustment codes, and reimbursement scenarios
Identify posting errors, misapplied payments, unapplied cash, missing context, or incorrect remittance interpretation
Cash Reconciliation & Revenue Cycle Operations
Review reconciliation workflows involving posted payments, bank deposits, lockbox reports, payer remittances, and billing system records
Evaluate outputs related to cash posting accuracy, days to post, unapplied cash balances, reconciliation variance, and payment discrepancy resolution
Assess whether recommendations align with billing, accounts receivable, finance, and cash close workflows
Support review of internal controls, audit expectations, HIPAA considerations, and cash handling requirements where relevant
Structured Feedback & Quality Control
Annotate AI-generated payment and reconciliation outputs and provide structured feedback to support quality improvement
Explain review decisions clearly, consistently, and with strong revenue cycle operations judgment
Follow detailed task instructions, quality criteria, and project-specific review guidelines accurately
Identify edge cases, workflow gaps, data quality issues, or incomplete AI-generated payment recommendations
Ideal Profile
Strong candidates may have:
5+ years of experience in cash posting, payment reconciliation, revenue cycle operations, or healthcare payment workflows
At least 2 years of experience in a management, team lead, supervisor, or operational oversight role
Deep knowledge of ERA/835 electronic remittance processing, EOB interpretation, and lockbox reconciliation
Strong understanding of payer payment methodologies, remittance adjustment reason codes, denial-related payment issues, and reconciliation workflows
Experience managing high-volume payment posting operations across multiple payers
Proficiency with billing systems and payment posting platforms such as Epic, Athenahealth, or similar systems
Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills
High attention to detail and ability to identify posting errors, discrepancies, and AI-generated output issues
Educational Background
Professional background in healthcare revenue cycle operations, payment posting, cash reconciliation, billing operations, accounts receivable, finance operations, or healthcare business office functions is highly relevant
Experience in hospital, physician group, health system, payer-facing, or multi-payer revenue cycle environments may be especially valuable
Practical experience with payment posting platforms, billing systems, lockbox workflows, remittance files, reconciliation procedures, or cash close operations may support project fit
Formal education in healthcare administration, finance, accounting, business, health information management, or a related field may be relevant depending on project scope
Nice to Have
CRCR, CPC, CHFP, or similar healthcare revenue cycle, coding, or healthcare finance credential
Experience with automated ERA posting platforms, RPA-driven cash posting solutions, or payment automation workflows
Background in hospital or physician group cash posting operations with multi-payer complexity
Familiarity with AI tools and comfort evaluating AI-generated remittance, reconciliation, or payment posting content
