This role focuses on reviewing industrial engineering content and workflows across realistic production and operations scenarios. Selected professionals will assess production plans, process designs, quality analyses, logistics decisions, and engineering recommendations for technical accuracy, process efficiency, engineering rigour, and practical feasibility. Key Responsibilities Production Systems & Process Design Evaluate production plans, process designs, and integrated manufacturing workflows Assess whether proposed systems appropriately coordinate people, materials, equipment, and operational resources Review production sequencing, workflow design, and process dependencies Identify bottlenecks, inefficient process steps, and unrealistic operating assumptions Apply practical judgement grounded in real-world industrial engineering experience Process Optimisation Review recommendations intended to improve productivity, throughput, utilisation, and operational efficiency Assess whether proposed improvements address the underlying process constraints Evaluate workflow changes, resource allocation, and process redesign approaches Identify opportunities to reduce waste, delays, unnecessary movement, or operational complexity Review trade-offs between efficiency, capacity, cost, and quality Quality Engineering & Control Evaluate quality-control plans, analyses, and operational standards Assess whether quality requirements are appropriately incorporated into production processes Review approaches to identifying, measuring, and addressing quality issues Identify weaknesses in inspection, control, or corrective-action processes Evaluate whether recommendations support consistent product and process quality Production Planning & Coordination Review production schedules, sequencing decisions, and coordination plans Assess alignment between demand, production capacity, inventory, and resource availability Identify scheduling conflicts, capacity constraints, and execution risks Evaluate operational dependencies across production activities Review recommendations for improving production flow and coordination Inventory & Logistics Evaluate inventory-control and logistics scenarios within integrated production systems Review material-flow, replenishment, storage, and coordination decisions Assess whether inventory recommendations reflect production requirements and operational constraints Identify risks involving shortages, excess inventory, or inefficient material movement Evaluate logistics approaches for operational feasibility and efficiency Cost & Operational Analysis Review cost analyses supporting industrial engineering decisions Assess assumptions involving production costs, resources, capacity, and process changes Evaluate whether financial conclusions are supported by the underlying operational analysis Identify inconsistencies between engineering recommendations and cost implications Review trade-offs between cost, productivity, quality, and operational performance Comparative Engineering Evaluation Compare alternative industrial engineering responses or approaches Assess outputs based on engineering rigour, process efficiency, and quality-control soundness Identify meaningful differences between stronger and weaker solutions Determine whether recommendations are technically and operationally defensible Provide clear reasoning supporting evaluation decisions Structured Evaluation & Feedback Review industrial engineering work products for accuracy and professional quality Identify substantive process, quality, production, logistics, and analytical weaknesses Distinguish material engineering issues from minor presentation concerns Provide concise, evidence-based written feedback Apply evaluation standards consistently across assignments Ideal Profile 4+ years of relevant professional experience in industrial engineering or a closely related engineering discipline Experience as an Industrial Engineer, Process Engineer, Quality Engineer, Continuous Improvement Engineer, Operations Engineer , or similar professional Demonstrated experience designing, developing, or evaluating integrated production systems Strong practical experience with one or more of the following: quality control, inventory control, logistics, cost analysis, or production coordination Ability to evaluate production processes for efficiency, quality, cost, and operational feasibility Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong written English communication skills Ability to work independently and provide precise professional feedback Engagement Details Part-time independent contractor engagement Fully remote United States opportunity Availability of 20+ hours per week Immediate start Initial project duration of approximately 4–6 weeks Compensation: $60–$100/hour for hourly project work The initial assignment is task-based;
