Key Responsibilities Survey & Questionnaire Evaluation Review surveys for methodological quality, clarity, and fitness for purpose Assess whether survey questions effectively address intended research objectives Identify leading language, ambiguity, double-barrelled questions, and problematic response options Evaluate questionnaire structure, ordering, and respondent burden Recommend practical improvements to strengthen survey quality Survey Logic & Structure Review screeners and eligibility criteria Evaluate survey flow, skip logic, display logic, and branching Assess response scales and questionnaire sequencing Identify inconsistencies or structural issues that may affect respondent behaviour Evaluate whether survey design supports reliable and interpretable results Bias & Measurement Quality Identify potential sources of sampling, measurement, response, and selection bias Assess wording and design choices that may influence participant responses Evaluate ordering effects and contextual influences Review survey methodology for potential threats to validity Apply professional judgement where methodological trade-offs do not have a single definitive solution Sampling & Fieldwork Review respondent recruitment and fielding approaches Evaluate sampling strategies, quotas, and sample composition Assess the suitability of respondent panels for intended research populations Review screening and qualification methodologies Evaluate data-quality controls used during survey fieldwork Market Research & Consumer Insights Apply professional experience from market research, consumer insights, or related research environments Assess whether surveys generate useful information for business, policy, product, or research decisions Evaluate research questions from the perspective of intended stakeholders Review quantitative research approaches and practical implementation choices Ensure recommendations remain grounded in real-world research practice Behavioural, UX & Social Research Apply relevant experience from behavioural science, UX research, customer research, polling, or social research Evaluate surveys used to understand attitudes, behaviours, preferences, or experiences Assess whether questionnaire design appropriately reflects intended respondent populations Review methodological choices across different research contexts Contribute mixed-methods or experimental research judgement where relevant Research Reasoning & Quality Review Critically evaluate methodological decisions rather than simply execute predefined questionnaires Assess whether surveys are likely to produce reliable, interpretable, and decision-useful data Identify weaknesses in research reasoning or survey construction Provide structured explanations of methodological concerns Recommend specific and actionable improvements AI-Generated Research Evaluation Review AI-generated survey content and research reasoning against professional research standards Identify methodological weaknesses in generated questionnaires Assess whether proposed survey approaches reflect established research practice Evaluate ambiguity, bias, respondent burden, and measurement quality Provide clear rationales for recommended corrections or improvements Ideal Profile 3+ years of professional experience in survey research, market research, consumer insights, behavioural science, UX research, or a closely related field Meaningful hands-on experience designing and/or fielding surveys professionally Strong understanding of questionnaire design and common sources of survey error and bias Relevant professional backgrounds may include: Market research Consumer or customer insights Survey methodology Quantitative research Behavioural science UX or customer research Polling and public-opinion research Social or policy research Experience with respondent panels, sampling strategies, screeners, quotas, or survey fieldwork is highly valuable Strong ability to critically evaluate survey methodology and explain why specific design choices are strong or weak Excellent written communication and analytical judgement High attention to detail and comfort working with incomplete or ambiguous information Relevant titles may include Market Research Manager, Consumer Insights Manager, Survey Researcher, Survey Methodologist, Quantitative Researcher, Behavioural Scientist, Insights Consultant, Research Director, UX Researcher , or Research Scientist Experience with platforms such as Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, Alchemer, Decipher/Forsta, QuestionPro , or similar research tools is helpful but not required Engagement Details Part-time independent contractor engagement Fully remote Flexible scheduling based on project requirements
