Job Description The MEP VDC Production Modeler develops and advances mechanical and plumbing models from engineering design through coordination and fabrication-level detail. This role bridges engineering intent and field execution by producing highly detailed models that incorporate constructability, sequencing, and installation requirements. The position supports project teams by translating design information into coordinated, fabrication-ready models aligned with project scope, schedule, and delivery objectives. The models produced are intended for direct use by prefabrication and field installation teams, not solely for design coordination. Responsibilities Develop Revit mechanical and plumbing models based on engineering drawings, markups, and specifications. Advance Mechanical and plumbing models from initial design to coordination and fabrication-level detail. Progress models to Levels of Development (LOD) 350–400, including detailed routing and layout. Place and coordinate hangers, supports, and related elements within the model to meet constructability and installation requirements. Incorporate constructability considerations, including access, clearances, and field conditions, into the model. Embed sequencing and installation logic into the model to support efficient field execution and prefabrication. Align models with project scope, schedule, and delivery objectives to support timely project completion. Coordinate closely with project stakeholders to ensure models accurately reflect engineering intent and field needs. Prepare models for direct use by prefabrication and field teams, ensuring they are clear, accurate, and construction-ready. Support project teams by resolving modeling issues and updating models as design or field conditions evolve. Essential Skills Proficiency in Revit Capability to progress models to LOD 350–400, including detailed routing and hanger placement. Strong understanding of constructability, sequencing, and installation requirements as they apply to MEP systems. Experience supporting prefabrication and field installation teams through detailed modeling. Familiarity with coordination workflows between engineering, virtual design and construction (VDC), and field operations.
