Remote | Product Designer (UX & AI Evaluation) — $40–$115/hour

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced product and UX designers with strong visual judgement, product-thinking skills, and hands-on expertise creating digital experiences and design prototypes. This role supports an AI research project focused on product design, user experience, and visual preference evaluation. Selected designers will apply professional design judgement to assess product concepts, create mockups, review user journeys, and provide structured feedback that helps improve how advanced AI systems understand and generate high-quality digital product experiences. Key Responsibilities Product Design Evaluation Review product designs and digital experiences for usability, clarity, visual quality, and overall effectiveness Apply professional design judgement when comparing alternative product concepts Evaluate hierarchy, interaction patterns, information architecture, and interface consistency Identify design decisions that strengthen or weaken the overall user experience Provide clear rationale for product and visual preference decisions UX & User Journey Review Evaluate user flows and journeys across digital products Identify friction points, confusing interactions, and opportunities to improve usability Assess whether navigation and interaction patterns support user goals effectively Review product experiences from both functional and user-centred perspectives Translate UX observations into clear and actionable feedback UI Design & Visual Quality Assess layout, typography, spacing, hierarchy, colour, and visual consistency Evaluate whether interfaces demonstrate strong product-design taste and attention to detail Identify inconsistencies across components, screens, and interaction states Apply established UI and interaction-design principles to evaluation tasks Review designs for polish, clarity, and professional execution Mockups & Prototyping Create product mockups and visual design concepts where required Work with tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe design applications Develop design examples that communicate product ideas clearly Produce interface concepts suitable for comparative evaluation and research workflows Iterate on designs based on project guidelines and feedback AI Design Evaluation & Research Apply design expertise to structured AI research and evaluation tasks Compare AI-generated product-design concepts and determine which better meets defined objectives Identify recurring strengths and weaknesses in AI-generated interfaces Provide structured feedback that captures both functional and aesthetic considerations Contribute professional design judgement to research on AI-assisted product creation Ideal Profile 3+ years of professional experience in Product Design, UX Design, UI/UX Design, Interaction Design, or a closely related discipline Strong professional experience within a recognised technology company or similarly high-quality product environment Advanced proficiency with Figma, Sketch, Adobe , or comparable professional design tools Demonstrated ability to create polished product mockups and interface concepts Strong understanding of user experience, user journeys, interaction design, and product usability Excellent visual judgement and attention to design detail Ability to evaluate product experiences from both functional and aesthetic perspectives Experience working across web, mobile, or digital product interfaces Strong written communication and ability to explain design decisions clearly Comfortable working independently within structured research and evaluation workflows Engagement Details Part-time independent contractor engagement Fully remote Minimum commitment of 15 hours per week Flexible scheduling based on project requirements Compensation: $40–$115/hour Candidates selected to advance may be asked to complete a paid design assessment before final engagement Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project needs and performance Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party H1-B and STEM OPT support is unavailable for this engagement About the Platform This opportunity is available through 24-MAG LLC.
